Origin Consultants Pvt Ltd a Retained Executive Search Services Company has been retained by a US$ 21 3 billion Global Business & Financial Advisory Services Provider to identify Vice President Business Development to be based at Pune



The Vice President Business Development is an individual contributor role Although he / she generally does not have direct responsibility for supervising department personnel, this person must have strong influencing skills to work with technical partners and operations staff in order to get the right resources to serve the client Must be able to make decisions, such as prioritize relationships to develop, negotiate with clients (external and internal) and overcome obstacles with minimal supervision Other responsibilities include

Drive results focusing on Strategic Named Accounts (Fortune 500 Companies), conduct rigorous account planning and management and drive relationships across the clients organization to ensure client satisfaction
Leverage the Firms key initiatives and cross-functional services for clients and new business opportunities to grow revenue in alignment with the Company strategy
Develop and nurture relationships at the C level (CEO, CFO, CIO, CXO) of complex accounts
Own the business development/pursuit process and generate Revenue month on month from the accounts
Lead in both formulating account strategy and executing the plan
Work with the Client Service Partner and participate throughout the Client and Engagement Life Cycle and ASQ
Share knowledge and leading practices within the Area and the Firm
Conduct the following client facing activities
1 Initiate, build and sustain client relationships
2 Negotiate and participate in pricing strategy
3 Resolve concerns
4 Ensure client satisfaction
5 Pursue new business opportunities
Conduct the following internal activities
1 Develop account strategy and plan
2 Conduct account team meetings and provide coaching
3 Manage business development efforts
4 Own and manage the pipeline

Desired Candidate Profile

The Vice President Business Development is an individual contributor role Although he / she generally does not have direct responsibility for supervising department personnel, this person must have strong influencing skills to work with technical partners and operations staff in order to get the right resources to serve the client Must be able to make decisions, such as prioritize relationships to develop, negotiate with clients (external and internal) and overcome obstacles with minimal supervision

A proven record for selling complex services and solutions at the C level (CEO, CFO, CIO, CXO) and also Purchase Heads of Fortune 500 companies
14 20 years experience in Business Development and Sales preferably from the Big 4, BFSI, Media or Advertising Domains Candidates with relevant but lesser experience will be considered for AVP or Manager experience
Must have experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management and handled Profit and Loss accountability for accounts managed and also contributed to revenue targets
Must have a seasoned understanding of the marketplace / industry, competitive and account information and the ability and deep experience to team with and influence technical partners to serve the client
Should have good understanding of clients in the region and should have had enough exposure to businesses and consultative selling
Have strong client, industry and sector relationships should, a very strong connect with promoter as well as corporate companies in the region and should have spent at least 80 PERCENT of his / her professional life in the specified region (Pune)
Must be able to work within a matrix organization while balancing the clients needs with the company and service lines initiatives and goals
Is familiar with trends and issues that create opportunities to add value to the clients business
Makes clients and their needs a primary focus of ones actions; initiating, building and sustaining productive client relationships resulting in delivering quality service and ensuring client satisfaction (Client Focus)
Ensures that a meeting serves its business objectives while using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods (Business Development Facilitation)
Actively participates as a member of the account team to move the team toward the completion of goals (Teamwork)
Clearly conveys information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message (Communication)
Identifies opportunities and takes actions to build strategic relationships with partners, sr mgrs, Area/Sub-Area leadership teams, practices and other areas, teams or departments to help achieve business goals (Building Internal Relationships)
Creates a good first impression, commands attention and respect, shows an air of confidence, and deals comfortably with colleagues (Executive Presence)
Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of a product, service, or idea from prospects and clients (Relationship Development Ability / Persuasiveness)
