Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vehicle Operator (VO) is responsible for the safe operation of various vehicles and equipment for a base operating support services task order Vehicles operated include, but not limited to, shuttle bus, taxi, forklift, wrecker, and MHE (cranes, dozers, large excavators, backhoes, bobcats, t-rex units, etc) This position reports to the Vehicle Operations Supervisor and Vehicle Operations Control Center Supervisor

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES

Operates/drives all vehicles safely and economically, extending full courtesies to protocol supported missions by assisting in loading / unloading of baggage and opening/closing of doors as required

Conforms to all installation and OSHA rules and regulations and ensures that seatbelts are worn in vehicles so equipped

Maintains passenger, mileage and transport records as input to daily, weekly and monthly activity reports

Assists the Dispatcher during Silent hours to operate all common vehicles/equipment

Performs inspections using AF Form 1800 and reports maintenance issues in accordance with vehicle requirements and established procedures

Provides on-call response after hours as needed to meet unscheduled or surge requirements

Performs as supplemental personnel in all scopes of work such as vehicle operations, materiel control, and fleet management as needed

Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas

Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (eg, to include government facilities, equipment and tools)

Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet

Performs other duties as assigned

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED

Common vehicles and equipment as directed and licensed to operate General office equipment May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment (PPE) such as flak vest and Kevlar helmet; may be required to push, pull and lift heavy equipment Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Extensive interaction with the government customer is required Work is generally conducted in an outdoor environment with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions such as, exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions Task specific work environment training will be provided as required Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U S interests 100 PERCENT Overseas Assignment

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, team lifting up to 100 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Physical dexterity required Constant use of sight abilities while operating vehicles is required

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certifications One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required

High school diploma or equivalent

Prefer knowledge of US Military vehicles and equipment, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, military regulations standards, and OEM requirements

Must have a current, valid U S Passport, U S Drivers License, CDL license, and capable of obtaining a flight line drivers license

Must have and be capable of maintaining a valid U S SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently

Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc

Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protective gear

Experience

Shall have a minimum of three (3) years of experience vehicle operation

Skills

Prefer experience with any of the following systems ICOPARS, OLVIMS, DPAS, ETIMS, JCALS and CMMS

Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word

Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements

Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred
