User Experience & Research Manager

WHAT YOULL DO

The User Experience and Research Manager will play a critical role in driving a next generational user experience for a new Digital Knowledge Platform and Collaboration tools being developed within BCG This individual will be an integral member leading the adoption of these new digital knowledge products within BCG Candidates for this role should be passionate about engaging with users and understanding their needs

YOURE GOOD AT

Establish, grow and continuously enable a diverse platform of users for ongoing user experience research, usability testing, feedback and requirements
Conduct product and user experience research and engage with all BCG teams to closely understand business challenges and to prioritize solutions
Work closely with technical and functional teams, key senior stakeholders/leadership to execute and carefully monitor/report on the results of user engagement and research programs and activities; share key learnings with product teams and others; make recommendations about future improvements
Connect with leadership teams and practice areas to ensure that the Digital Knowledge group is close to key firm events, initiatives and strategic priorities
Drive internal Knowledge Services cross-team transparency on value of new initiatives and capabilities

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Bachelors degree in Design, Information Sciences, HCI, Psychology or equivalent combination; advanced degree strongly preferred
5 years of experience leading user experience, user research, data-driven user engagement preferably within technology or consulting industry with focus on SaaS products and tools
Strong familiarity with user-centered design frameworks, and a working understanding of related technologies
Extremely strong PowerPoint and other visual presentation skills, including planning and execution of short video productions
Time Management, prioritization, organizational skills, attentiveness, accuracy in performance and keen attention to detail
Effective presentation of information and strong communication skills for responding to managers, cross-functional teams and coordinating with vendors as necessary
Ability to work independently and autonomously
Excellent inter-personal skills to collaborate with product owners and content managers to define product experience and define research experiments and data needed to validate
Self-starter with an ability to excel in a dynamic, ever-changing environment

BCGs Knowledge Services (KS) group is a growing, global team that drives knowledge management strategy, program implementation and operations for BCG The KS team provides overall management of major knowledge management platforms, products and programs, including efforts in areas such as machine learning/artificial intelligence, expertise/reputation management, search, content management, social collaboration/communities, taxonomy, analytics, business request management and other related topics Within KS, the Digital Knowledge Group is a new and growing team focused on developing and deploying leading edge knowledge solutions supporting BCGs business goals, through leverage of data, analytics and cognitive solutions
