What you would be doing

- Evaluate potential business opportunities including conducting market research, other analysis and diligence, and communicating recommendations to the Head of Corporate Development and Senior Leadership Team

- Assist in developing upGrads corporate development strategy (which include M&A alliances & partnerships)

- Identify and engage potential acquisition or partnership opportunities via personal and event networking, technology meet-ups, cold outreach, and industry research

- Partner with various Fintech, Financing & Ed-tech Companies which would help upGrads growth

- Figuring out small start-ups/organizations within the Education domain & exploring possibilities of Acqui-hiring that organization/start-up which are in sync with upGrads vision

- Analyze industry prospects by gathering information about target, market, competitors, and market share possibilities; researching potential acquisitions to find those that are relevant and financially beneficial

- Assist in the later stages of the M&A process as needed, including drafting letters of intent, conducting due diligence, negotiating final agreements along with Legal team

- Close partnership agreements while properly balancing company goals, speed, and economic potential

- Evaluate the financial and non-financial benefits and risks of new partnerships/acquisitions

- Take primary responsibility for the execution and integration of new partnerships/acquisitions

- Developing a strong working relationship with stakeholders across the organisation to support the timely closure of the projects

- Identify opportunities for process improvement across the value chain and organisational functions Work with the team/executive leadership to conceptualise solutions for the process improvement

- Experience facilitating partnerships majorly across IT Industries

- Think Big - identify new areas of opportunity for upGrad, create investment strategies and evaluate key targets in partnership with business teams

- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, good strategic thinking and business acumen

- High energy level, drive and a passion to succeed; eager to learn and to grow

- Strong interpersonal skills, including listening and very good communication skills (verbal and written)

- Self-starter, ownership and natural leadership & drive to get things done

- Experience of around 2-5 years into Partnerships, Sales, Business Development, Mergers & Acquisition, Corporate Development
