In a typical day as a Linux/Unix Expert Administrator, you would

Successfully resolve technical issues (hardware and software) from incoming internal or external businesses and end users contacts and proactive notification systems
Respond to service, product, technical, and customer- relations questions on subjects such as features, specifications, and repairs on current and discontinued products, parts, and options, based on customer entitlement (warranty through mission- critical)
Proactively assist internal or external businesses and end users to avoid or reduce problem occurrence
Act as a mentor and guide other employees Ability to provide direction and guidance to process improvements
Articulate clearly, recommend and explain resolutions /clients
Understand and utilize ITIL
Represent the company in a face to face customer location visit, industry conference/trade show, vendor meeting, etc

Skills required

Minimum of 3-5 years in a Linux Systems Administrator role
Experience maintaining Linux environment
Ability to work an oncall roster
Basic Windows Server skills (2008, 2012, 2016)
A commitment to customer service, professionalism and ability to work in a team first environment are crucial characteristics required for this role
Excellent documentation and communication skills

Non-essential but highly desirable skills

Working with SAP HANA from an infrastructure / Operating system level
Experience with working with HPE hardware (HPE Servers, 3PAR storage, Superdome, StoreOnce)
Experience using modern orchestration/automation technologies (eg Puppet/Chef, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins, etc)
Experience with security and Hardening
Experience with backup products (ie Data Protector)
