Job description

- The Head of Product should work closely with the Head of Engineering and heads of functional departments (marketing, operations, supply/partnerships, legal, finance) to constantly redefine and iterate on the student housing marketplace

- S/he would need to understand the mindset of a undergrad/post-grad student from anywhere around the world, as well as the mindset of a student housing provider offering housing services in/around popular education hotbeds

- Based upon this understanding of consumer behaviour, s/he would be responsible for delivering to market the most compelling product experience to both sets of participants on the marketplace This includes, but is not limited to, designing product intended to -

- Widen geographical availability and categories of housing supply

- Deepen available housing within localities

- Form and scale tie-ups with universities and referral partners

- Reduce friction in the booking flows for students

- Deliver a rich suite of payment options available for students

- Reduce friction for housing providers in all aspects of their interactions with the marketplace

- Equip out-of-town students with an easy transition to their new home

- Make the legal and contractual terms of letting rooms out and generating long-term tenancy agreements easy to meet for participants

- To be able to do this, the Head of Product is expected to start off being hands-on initially, while in parallel forming a team of capable individually contributing Product Managers who can go deep into experiences, own them, design experiments, test hypotheses, take decisions and move the product along in an agile manner, without compromising on established benchmarks in important KPIs

- Basic technical understanding of how APIs and web requests/responses work

- Ability to work hard and stretch if required
