Job profile summary Responsible for partnering with the business / corporate function / or within the Tax Function to provide either compliance services, tax reporting services or domestic and multi-jurisdictional tax advice (dependent on specialism), to help optimise BPs tax position and effectively manage any potential tax risks

Role Synopsis

Lead and deliver projects of high complexity or risk including Country-by-country reporting and transfer pricing projects related to coordinated Supply & Trading
Support the management of policies and controls, balance complex and advanced operational issues across Transfer Pricing services, perform in-depth troubleshooting and Support operational delivery, quality management and control

Job Advert Key accountabilities
Functional

Main lead for medium to high complexity transfer pricing projects or special projects assigned, ad hoc transfer pricing queries
The role will include but not limited to the following activities Preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation, implementing processes and procedures on a global and country specific basis
Working with Finance/Accounting teams to ensure that transfer pricing policies are fully understood and robustly applied, through review and implementation of joint processes
Work closely with the BP Taxs Transfer Pricing Group to; Reconcile the Groups transfer pricing methods and help to support the ongoing maintenance and implementation of the groups head office recharge mechanisms and other intra-group transactions;
Help maintain BPs transfer pricing policies, and develop procedures and documentation, and customising these for specific transfer pricing regimes;
Undertake benchmarking searches on available databases; and
Where possible, enthusiastically bring to the attention to the Transfer Pricing Group any deficit in policies and their associated risks and opportunities for tax benefits
Ensure the performance and documentation of internal controls in accordance with BPs transfer pricing processes

Assist the development and implementation of specific transfer pricing projects, including working where necessary with professional advisors
Lead contact and interface for in-country tax advisor, BP Business and Finance
Identifying, highlighting and consulting with partners of potential risks and issues from transfer pricing perspective
Identifying potential risks, issues and benefits based on analysed financial data and detailed transfer pricing analysis
Recommending transfer pricing methodologies
Assist Business and Legal to develop new / maintain existing intercompany agreements

Service Management and Continuous Improvement Provide technical analyst and/or feedback regarding the impact of regulatory changes, projects, system upgrades or modifications to support the development of targeted responses, enhanced processes and systems focused on quality, control and compliance
Assist Team Lead in addressing process gaps, identify inefficiencies and help embed a continuous improvements culture in the organisation, which include transfer pricing processes or joint processes with Business / Tax / Finance to ensure robustness in the implementation of transfer pricing policies
Support and/or lead some of the projects related to new initiatives, improvements, implementation of policy changes, new GBS scope and other process/system changes
Maintain strong professional relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders
Provide training, troubleshooting documentation and continual on the job mentorship for significant team partners
Keeping abreast with transfer pricing developments, tax law and business changes
Having good knowledge of BP Businesses
Liaising with Tax & Finance Teams in different time zones and potentially in different languages requiring rigorous coordination between teams
Knowledge sharing & transfer skills

Internal Tax Advisors, Senior Tax Advisors, Tax Managers, Senior Tax Managers
GBS Finance Recharges
BP Finance in Functions / Segments / SPU
Various BP Businesses

External tax auditors

Essential Education A university degree or professional qualification, in accountancy or its equivalent A tax qualification is helpful
Membership with the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia or Australian &/or UK &/or US equivalent is helpful

Essential experience and job requirements At least with 8 10 years post qualification experience in tax and / or accounting role Ideally with 6-8 years dealing with transfer pricing matters
Good knowledge of transfer pricing, corporate tax and accounting principles
