Main Purpose of the Job

To provide technical assistance in relation to land and buildings valuation, management, maintenance, repair, condition surveys to Technical Assistants, Graduate Surveyors, Senior Surveyors, Surveyors and Principal Surveyor to assist the delivery and maintenance of an efficient and professional valuation and property service

The main contacts of the job are the Principal Surveyor, Senior Surveyors, Surveyors and Graduate Surveyors Portfolio Management, Jacobs Clients, Manchester City Council, Area Regeneration Teams, external bodies, members of the public, the business community and private sector surveyors

Main Duties

To facilitate and obtain where requested the repair, securing and clearance of Land and Property in accordance with our clients requirements and agreed by the Principal Surveyor or Senior Surveyor
To facilitate and obtain where requested the inspection and condition survey of Land and Property in accordance with our clients requirements and agreed by the Principal Surveyor
To effectively support the maintenance of our clients performance measurement systems
To prepare and submit reports, memoranda and letters for approval by Line Manager and as required input and extract information from the computer systems
To keep records of Inspections, Repairs, Surveys, Land Clearance, etc to provide a database for caseload and to monitor records accordingly To update schedules as required
To manage caseload in a productive and cost effective manner following our clients systems and financial regulations
To actively participate in new initiatives and future changes in service delivery improvements
To assist Surveyors with appropriate information of property condition and repair as part of their preparation and submission of papers to Land Tribunal, County Courts and any other bodies in order to present evidence on behalf of our clients
To actively pursue own personal development and take full advantage of training provided
To take reasonable care of the health and safety of self and other persons whilst in work
To raise orders with contractors, carry out general administration duties, attend meetings with contractors and liaise with utility companies

For this job we are looking for

A knowledge of Property, Land and Buildings and how property is owned, managed and transferred
Ability to manage own caseload and work to strict deadlines with minimum supervision
Excellent written communication skills to produce reports and provide correspondence in support of the work of the Valuation and Property Services business
Active listening and verbal communication skills for effective communication with members of the public and Valuation and Property Services colleagues
Good ICT skills
