Specific to the role of Complex Service Request Engineer, responsibilities may include

Ensure accurate execution of detailed and approved requests in customers production environments
Adhere to and implement Change Management processes and policies of Cisco and customers
Support Change Managers with technical input on Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, whether internal and external
Validate service request execution process prior to production implementation
Conduct post-change QA testing to validate successful service request completion and to reduce risk of service impacting events resulting from the change
Serve as first point of contact for failed service requests/changes; conduct change backouts to the point of pre-change baseline
Provide continual communication to partners before, during and after execution of approved service requests

What You Know 5-10 years experience in a network operations/technical support role and/or a technical architecture/implementation role
Good technical experience with security platforms and technologies, including Cisco, Checkpoint and Palo Alto products
3-5 years experience in technical support, implementation and configuration of advanced security technologies, including Cisco products
Experience should include most of the following
Hands on experience with Cisco ISE, ACS, Firepower/NGIPS, ASA, AMP, WSA & Stealthwatch
Configure, upgrade & maintain firewall, IDS/IPS platforms
Configure & manage site-to-site IPSec VPN tunnels
Monitor system prioritization and utilization
Firewall rule creation, migration, and re-certification
Performance tuning and optimization of firewalls and firewall policies
Experience collecting and reading packet level network traces
In-depth understanding of network ports, NAT, PAT and access control lists
You should be proficient in TCP/IP protocol suite
Strong expertise with investigation, troubleshooting and analysis of IDS/IPS systems

Experience in below skills would be helpful

Design, configuration, administration, and documentation of firewall infrastructure
Experience setting engineering standards
IT Security assessment and implementing security solutions based on the assessment results
Prior Managed Services experience
You should have experience working with Checkpoint, Juniper and Fotinet firewalls
Tipping-Point (Trend Micro) IDS/IPS
Juniper IDS
Citrix WAF (Web Application Firewalls)
Firemon Security Management Suite

Required Professional Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication
Prioritize technology while managing multiple customer commitments
Work independently with minimal supervision
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
