Job Description:

Regional Manager- Vidarbha and Marathwada

JOB PURPOSE

- To identify program specific needs across all projects being implemented in Vidarbha and Marathwada

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1 Strategy Development & Programme Implementation

11 Develop strategic framework to address the gaps in liaison with program implementation team on ground and assist development of project implementation plans

12 Ensure availability, timely deployment and effective utilization of resources (human resource, finance, etc)

13 To coordinate with the program design team for designing a program to address the identified needs in line with the approved strategic goals

14 Ensure that all field programs focus on the overall strategy of bringing change in quality of life Bof rural communities

15 Provide regular handholding support and guidance to team members to ensure quality execution at the field level

16 Take responsibility for delivering and reporting as per the requirements of various projects at regular levels

17 Oversee budgets and be responsible for professional and timely reporting on progress to a host of donor agencies including the government

18 To facilitate effective and efficient implementation of the program to garner maximum impact

19 To monitor the implementation of the program to ensure that the qualitative and quantitative objectives of the program are met in a timely manner

2 Research and Networking

21 Resource mobilization and donor linkages to conduct research studies and policy advocacy

22 Work closely with the policy function, wherein linkages with the key government programs towards strengthening their execution and further strengthening the policy space

23 Ensure that reliable information is generated from programs to support the development of communications materials, and evidence for advocacy work along with its quality dissemination at various important platforms

3 Team Management and Leadership

31 Provide effective mentoring to reportees to develop their skills and capabilities

32 Undertake periodic progress meetings

33 Work towards strengthening the capacity of the team and build a good working culture within the organization

34 Provide regular mentoring and guidance to team members

35 Conceptualize and implement a brand-building exercise for SBI and its programs and ensure visibility of SBI work

4 Fund Raising

41 Focus needs to be on raising of funds from other Donors, Government and CSR funds from submitting proposals for new programs and following up on their requirements

5 Other

51 Liaise and develop cordial relationship/network with government and other stakeholders

52 Updating the Zonal Manager on regular progress as well as the annual planning for all projects in Vidarbha/Marathwada

53 Any other work assigned by the Reporting Manager/higher authorities

54 Ensure compliance with the TCoC at all times and ensure the same for all field teams

Knowledge

- Understanding and familiarity with the development programmes on Natural Resource Management, Rural Livelihoods, Education, Nutrition, etc

- Knowledge and an in depth understanding of national and international development issues

- Substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control, project management, and securing and managing grants

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing in English and familiar in local language (Marathi)

Experience

- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant work experience in program implementation across multi themes

- Experience of working with government, donors, community institutions and NGOs along with an understanding of the issues involved

Qualifications

- Minimum of Post-graduate degree in Management/Agriculture/Rural Development/Social Sciences or an equivalent field, from a reputed university/institute

Circumstances - Able to work occasional extended hours and weekend as required
