Job Overview

Do you want to be a part of a high performing fast-paced team that has large growth potential Do you want to help propel Collins Aerospace Military Avionics business into new markets with new product and feature offerings Do you want to enjoy your job, the people you work with, and have fun while doing it The Military Civil Platform Systems department is seeking highly motivated Systems Engineers who can leverage existing and develop new technologies to provide innovative systems solutions for the X-59 Low Boom Flight Demonstrator (LBFD) avionics system and fill the role of Scrum Master and Cost Account Manager (CAM)

Job Responsibilities

Systems engineering through all phases of system product development including program pursuit and capture, requirements capture and analysis, system architecture design, requirements allocation and traceability, system / subsystem integration, system verification, system validation and life-cycle product support

Estimate, track, and report team costs and schedules while managing scope & risk

Interface with technical project management, software engineers, product-line systems engineers, hardware engineers, and customers

Providing systems team level cost estimates during the bid cycle

Scrum Master for the systems team, including leading the team ceremonies, increment and sprint planning, scrum meetings, etc

Interface with the customer during Iterative Design Reviews (IDR)

Required Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelors degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience In the absence of a degree, 7 years of experience is required

Knowledge of systems engineering processes

Understanding of systems, software and hardware development processes in an avionics application

Ability to break down and execute on complex tasks with minimal instructions

Experience working in highly collaborative environments

Demonstrate the ability to take ownership of tasks and lead efforts spanning multiple internal and external stakeholders

Keen aptitude for technical work that spans multiple levels of detail

Key qualifications we look for in our Systems Engineering team

Ability to travel up to 10 PERCENT

Working knowledge of avionics and navigation principles

Experience with military fixed-wing aircraft avionics systems

Experience with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion and / or Flight2 architectures

Aircraft systems experience with the following

Human / machine interface (HUDs, displays and controls)

Weapons systems

Sensor systems

Navigation, safety

Intelligence and surveillance

Voice and data communications

Information assurance

Flight controls, or digital / analog system interfaces

Knowledge and experience working with Avionics regulatory and certification requirements TSO, DO-160, DO-254, DO-297, DO-178B/C, and ARP4754A

Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, ALM, DOORS, Subversion, and PREP

Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development method

Key skills for success
