Were looking for a Support Engineer who will act as point of contact for all incoming production software application issues including various home grown software systems

Your work will impact our customers directly! This job requires you to constantly hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success High Impact production issues often require coordination between multiple Development, IT administration and Operations teams, so you get to experience a breadth of impact with various groups

Job Responsibilities

As Support Engineer,

Your primary responsibilities include Troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing monitoring solutions, Performing software maintenance and configuration

In this role, operational excellence is your priority You track down the true root cause of issues and take action to not only correct the errors, but also avoid future occurrences You have a continual eye for improvement You also develop automation tools to make operation less human intensive

You will be an integral member of People Technology team and responsible for quickly resolving urgent and important challenges of customers, where expediency, attention to detail and effective communication are a must

You are prompt, professional, articulate, and persistent in your interactions with customers

You listen to the users what they have to say and represent their needs to the organization You keep your product backlog prioritized and updated, knowing exactly where to employ additional resources

You anticipate bottlenecks, manage competing priorities, evaluate and make tradeoff decisions, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit

You focus heavily on cross-functional communication to ensure key decisions, risks, issues, and status surrounding your solutions is clear to all

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
Strong in Object-oriented design, data structures and problem solving
5-6 years experience in Java, C , or C# (expert in at least one)
5-6 years industry experience in developing and supporting production grade software
Linux experience (Administration tasks & troubleshooting skills)
Good understanding of database theory and solid experience in at least one relational or non-relational DBMS
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Obsession with quality and customer experience
Attention to detail coupled with ability to think abstractly
Must be able to think proactively and excellent follow-through
Ability to do scripting (Ruby, Perl, Python etc)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong understanding of support - tickets, monitoring, processes and metrics
Passion towards problem-solving
Strong decision-making ability
Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
Knowledge on distributed applications/enterprise applications
Familiar with AWS, Scalability of apps to serve 1 million users
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Knowledge of Web user interface technologies HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Responsive Design, jQuery, JSON and React will be a plus
