Supply Technical Inspector Lead ( KBO001525 )

Under the supervision of the SSA Retrograde Warehouse Manager, performs initial, in-progress and final inspections on various pieces of military, commerial, and other forms of military and commercially purchased equipment Makes proper classification determinations as it pertains to US Government property Assists Shops as needed with Testing and Troubleshooting processes on various equipment Uses proper Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in the daily operations phase Understands the others shop equipment and provides assistance and coverage whenever needed Performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) functions Inspect, test and troubleshoot automotive HVAC Systems


Perform initial, in-progress, classification and final QA/QC inspections
Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot defects
Use and interprets technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all inspections
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using precision TMDE such as micrometers and gauges
Order required repair parts using appropriate parts manuals
Use charts, wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot and inspect equipment
Conducts tests on equipment that has been serviced, repaired and overhauled to insure operating efficiency before returning to customer
Perform estimated cost of damage (ECOD), actual cost of damage (ACOD) and estimated cost of repair (ECOR) inspections and verify condition codes
Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions to all of the work force in the Shops
Ability to inspect, check and test all types of automotive HVAC System
Perform testing and certification of equipment and material during Load Testing Processes
Perform PDQR process when receiving improper or damaged repair parts
Performs other duties as assigned


Mechanics hand tools, shop tools, Multimeter, gauges, jack stands, and other forms of TMDE Computers, Printers and other forms of office equipment, Current Army STMIS system GCSS-Army


Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules


Work may require lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents May be required to work an irregular schedule including nights, weekends and holidays



Education/Certifications One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required

High School Graduate or equivalent Must have Military Automotive systems maintenance training or equivalent civilian work experience

Experience Minimum of 5 years continuous experience performing maintenance services and overhaul of combat tactical wheel and track vehicles and ancillary support equipment at the Mechanic or Inspector level


Must possess the technical skills to identify different repair requirements as it pertains to Military Equipment
Must have expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational and Repair so that the correct procedures are used on the proper equipment
Must be an expert in Corrective Actions performed by the Teams and only ensure that the equipment is FMC when cleared by the shops
Must have the ability to troubleshoot HVAC Systems
Must have full knowledge of TMDE and its proper usage
Must be proficient in how the repair parts system works and what to do when it doesnt work correctly
Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to the Services, maintenance, repairs, classification and etc
Must have expert knowledge of the maintenance prints so as to be able to establish workload priority
Must have expert knowledge of Load Test procedures and processes
Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to working as a master driver for that shop
Must have expert knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System, functions and processes such as preparing an ECOD, ACOD, ECOR or PQDR
Must have a working knowledge of the Army Corrosion Prevention Program
Must be proficient with GCSS-Army and required research web links (FEDLOG,ILW,DLA FEDMAL)
Must have a working knowledge of the Army COSIS requirements
