Strategic Account Manager (Blue Chip)

Job Purpose

To manage Blue Chip client partnerships for Agility in fulfillment of contractual obligations, deliverance of key performance results, identification and securing of profitable opportunities within existing client and new businesses, and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities


Financial Responsibilities

- Gross Revenue of assigned accounts based on the Annual Business Budget

- Client Receivables over 60 days

Existing Business

- Acts as client relationship interface between Blue Chip accounts and the company; manages positive relationships with key personnel within assigned accounts, as well within company stakeholders in Dubai, regional and global in line with growth of these accounts

- Ensures valid contracts, SOPs, and KPIs are existent for all assigned accounts through the entire partnership

- Monitors account performance through regular review meetings with operations, customer service and support functions (example - finance, billing, quality) to ensure all aspects of the business is on track

- Conducts weekly/monthly/quarterly review meetings with assigned clients to ensure KPI s are reviewed and understand operational concerns before they become issues

- Maintains and grow gross and net revenue of assigned accounts in line with annual budget

- Identifies implements and monitors improvement opportunities that translate into improved operations, reduced costs, enhanced revenue, profit and cash flows, etc

- Ensures timely invoicing and collection in line with clients service needs and payment terms respectively

New Business

- Identifies independently or in support from Strategic Management team/regional/global / product teams, new business opportunities and converts opportunities into revenue in line with annual budget

- Responsible to actively manage new proposals through presentation, proposal submission, negotiation and business closure stage

- Ensures all requirements of client business is understood and clearly addressed such as to have a clear scope of work defined for the contract

- Engages closely with product heads (and/or, delegates) and support functions (legal, IT, Government and others) to ensure contract is in line with Agility guidelines

- Ensures contract / MoU/LoI is signed on time in line with partnership go-live date

- Ensures implementation of new business into operational phase by setting clear goals for the implementation with the PMO office, and monitor implementation as per agreed frequency to ensure implementation is on track Acts as escalation point for corrective action, for any identified setbacks

- Ensures clear SOPs/KPIs are developed, agreed and communicated before start- up of operations


- Updates oneview with all existing and new business opportunities

- Maintains action tracker for clients and projects to ensure proper project management through entire client life cycle

- Reports submission on time as per set team target

- Develops industry case studies with country/regional/global marketing team

- Supports Strategic Management team in securing information/ meeting for assigned industry leads

- Manages Supply Chain Solutions team projects which supports in increasing revenue / cash flow of the team as well rectifying loss making partnerships

- Any other related duties/projects assigned by direct line manager / department manager from time to time that align with team business objectives


- Bachelors degree in sales/marketing/supply chain solutions, or equivalent (or additional 3PL/logistics Experience)


- 2-3 years- experience in overall relevant management in a 3PL or in-house logistics environment

- Customer service or operational experience covering freight forwarding and/or 3PL operations an advantage


- Commercial and business strategic skills

- Negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills

- Working efficiency in MS-Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Visio, Project Management

- Product knowledge of Supply Chain (warehousing, freight forwarding, distribution)

- Project Management skills

- Process Mapping orientation
