Sr Manager Space & Presentation ( Job Number STO000RIY )

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for leading the Space and Presentation team located at Target India This includes building & leading teams that perform functions such as building adjacency and plaongrams for new transitions, company space, new stores & remodels, Innovation test and analyzing revenue data to make changes to the planogram presentation This individual will also be responsible for working closely with Senior Management in India and Minneapolis to develop and execute strategies to build foundational capabilities and support key enterprise priorties

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Leadership

Lead Space and presentation team for the assigned business and manage execution of adjacency and planogram strategy
Partner with global teams to define strategy for End to End execution ownership and accountabitity
Develop and implement strategies to support teams key priorties
Represent Space and presentation at all levels of the organization on key initiatives at Target India

Partnership

Lead workload forecasting meeting and effectively drive prioritization conversation to support capacity management
Build stronger business context and elevate the teams capability from execution focused to end to end capability focused
Provide and receive feedback about the global team and support effective partnership

Project Management and Innovation

Establish comprehensive project management practice to ensure on time delivery of projects with 100 PERCENT accuracy
Define the plan to manage stakeholder communication
Organize business ownership within the team to ensure effective project execution and create succession plan for smooth transition
Create an environment and culture of problem solving Help teams implement various techniques of six sigma to streamline process and solve short term to long term problem

Culture, Communication and Training

Help establish Target culture and best practices for all of Target India
Establish and model a agile way of working
Demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural nuances Communicate effectively with team members and partners in various forums including town halls and skip level meets
Provide direction, support, and training opportunities for team members

People Management

Responsible for Hiring , talent assessment, competency development, performance management, productivity improvement, talent retention, career planning and development
Balance and prioritize workload and resources as necessary Keep track of work life balance of the team and takes necessary actions whenever required
Creates a focus within the team on continuous improvement by setting higher goals on quality and productivity and then tracking them to ensure that these goals are met
Build rigor on team member development and leveraging various approaches to help team member make progress on their developmental opportunities
Sets appropriate performance measures for all members of the team Counsels team members where there are issues regarding performance
Analyze various outputs from Best Team Survey and develop an action plan to address issues relating to team member morale and satisfaction

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to India based Director, Merchandising operations

Also works closely with Human Resources, Training, and the product team at Target India

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

8 years of experience in retail operations and preferably in the area of space and presentation
Understanding of 2 dimensional floor plan and 3 dimensional product placement
2 years of leadership experience
Experience of leading large teams (cross-functional) for multinational organizations
Experience in project management
Experience in leading/driving process improvements by leveraging lean/six sigma
Excellent collaborator Excels at partnering with others to achieve desired results
Strong cognitive skills including problem solving, decision making and analysis
Demonstrated strategic & critical thinking
Excellent communication skills and experience of managing global partnership

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

Advanced degree; MBA preferred
Space planning /Microstation/ Auto CAD tool knowledge
Six sigma (green belt)
