Responsibilities

Develop / Create approved standard components documentation for use by engineers in products the documentation fully defines the components
Ensure that when installed it meets the needs of that product design requirements and ALSTOM Standards These components must be readily available (preferably from more than one source), reliable and cost effective
Maintain a component information database
Select and recommend components for new and or modified products that will provide optimal price, availability, reliability and manufacturing
Provide (CLAMP) Common language database with all the requested technical information to purchase the component
Provide (CLAMP) Common language database with detailed written information on vendor testing requirements, screening and required incoming inspection for purchased components
Meet Alstom standards for quality and reliability of components
Provide obsolescence support to product lines and sourcing with alternative solutions for purchased components that are no longer available from the manufacturer
Provide support to Waiver process
Provide ongoing sustaining support for component / document maintenance
Research and investigate the correct components comply with design requirements
Keeping informed of new technology within the component area of responsibility
Maintains a preferred parts list
Support engineering schematic capture activities with component information, symbols and shape database

Required Education & Skills

BS degree in Electrical Engineering 5 or more years of related experience or total comparable education and related experience
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to meet business objectives within technical and project team environment
Working knowledge of CAD drawings
Working knowledge in MS office software
Working knowledge of SAP
Basic knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management
Railroad Signaling systems experience a plus

Five or more years of experience supporting multiple Engineering Groups
