We are looking for an outstanding, experienced and entrepreneurial Category Manager, Category Management to lead one of the fastest growing and strategically important categories at Amazon in India As a leader you will be responsible for overall P&L of the business and will define its vision, strategic roadmap and features - selection, pricing, and experience You will lead cross-functional development activities, projects and process improvements aimed at improving the customer experience In this role, you will closely work with the strategic vendors, sellers and stakeholders across India category teams and marketing team
The position requires a leader who can work autonomously in a fast paced, highly demanding and ambiguous environment We expect the Category Manager to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task

The position is based at Amazons India office located in Bangalore and reports into category leadership team

Responsibilities
Act as the business owner for the category, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business (this entails owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the category, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects and promotions to achieve business objectives)
Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
Define and develop an innovative product roadmap, and create buy-in from with key partners
Support the India category teams in increasing Amazons selection and coordinate with global teams to make this happen
Have a complete understanding of the customer needs, both existing and potential, and use that knowledge to deliver site features that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience
Move fast, innovate, and find ways to simplify
Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MBA from a premier Indian or international business school
6 years of product / business / sales management experience
Proven leadership experience in managing projects, product brands and services
Self-starter with a passion for independent, creative problem-solving, strong ownership, high commitment and a strong business judgment
Enjoy working in a startup environment, with proven ability to innovate and work customer backwards
Ability to think strategically and prioritize in an ambiguous environment
Analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior experience in handling a role with P&L accountability
Experience managing an Online or Offline Retail Vendor
Proven analytical skills and highly numerate
Ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
