Job Description:

To support PSCM MM&D delivery of the global inventory optimization program for the Upstream
To support standardization of inventory performance management metrics and manage the hub of inventory analytical capability for MM&D
To establish working relationships with in-region Delivery resources to drive sustainable, competent, high level utilization of SAP
To conform to standards for all data elements associated with Materials management
To achieve the optimal balance of service and risk level, operational costs and efficient investment in individual warehousing/distribution centres in partnership with Warehousing and Delivery Leadership
To assist Inventory Management Strategy Manager in identifying and exploiting opportunities for cross Region utilisation of inventory in accordance with any JVs, PSAs or other government requirements
Analyse line demand, safety & operational criticality, plan vs unplanned dimensions of inventory requirements in order to develop inventory replenishment levels to meet service requirements of Operating Functions that minimise downtime and ensure availability of material for work completion
Analyse operational cost of inventory flow plan and optimise appropriately leveraging suppliers, warehouse strategy, network model, and material requirements
Support endorsed inventory replenishment strategy and ongoing review of efficient use of investment in working capital
Develop business cases to justify material inventory modelling and investment recovery
Liaise with Technical Authorities to ensure modelling supports spares strategy, job plans and bill of materials
Support and monitor metrics/ KPIs (eg Cost-to-serve factor, On-time-in-full (OTIF)) that measure PSCM performance and value contribution, utilise benchmarks to measure long term growth at a regional and global level
Track inventory levels to ensure they are aligned to service and level agreements, monitor application of the BP P2P process for requisition, order materials and equipment
To deliver strategic direction in support of the roll-out of systematic material demand planning in SAP to the regions
To support investment recovery strategy in alignment with MM&D Delivery
To support Inventory Management Strategy Manager in developing, in consultation with Activity Planning and Operating Functions, demand plans from robust modelling, alignment with business objectives and drive for value delivery
To support execution of plans for transportation, material storage, and material handling plans to improve efficiency, reliability, optimize costs and ensure quality delivery

University degree or equivalent work experience

Essential Experience and Job Requirements

Technical Capability

Expertise in analytical modelling, industry tools, and end to end supply chain modules of SAP
Ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across multiple disciplines, cultures and geographies, across organizational boundaries and levels within BP and with suppliers
Appropriate knowledge in supply chain risk management and materials management
7 years of experience in relevant Supply Chain Management areas

Business Capability

Demonstrates strong capability to apply business acumen and clearly link value to business results at the business and Segment level
Drives value-adding solutions - deeply integrated to drive business solutions and disrupt where necessary, not operating as a parallel function Proven track record of improving/adding value and taking things to the next level

Desirable Criteria

10 Years of experience in relevant Supply Chain Management areas
Skilled at leading through complexity, executing projects in multi-stakeholder, multi-discipline, multi-cultural environments, with regional and country-specific issues and challenges
Experience in driving Inventory Management principles, key drivers of performance, and key enablers of information to support IM processes
Previous industry experience with MM and/or Warehousing
Degree in Statistical Analysis or Procurement/Supply Chain
Professional PSCM accreditation such as CPM, CIPS, APICS, ILDM
