As a SOLIDWORKS Education & Early Engagement Engineering Intern, you will work closely with a small international team to support the planning, implementation, execution and reporting of our Education, Research, and Early Engagement programs in support of the overall company goals

This is a Full Time (40hrs/week) paid co-op/internship spanning from December 2019 through June 2020 and is based on the Dassault Systemes Americas Headquarters located on 175 Wyman Street, Waltham, MA

What will your role be

Major responsibilities of the internship position are listed below Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of manager

Assist in all aspects of the daily operation and use of the Fab Lab
Learn how to operate and teach the use of all machines during events and programming as needed
Assist in organizing Fab Lab events and collaborative projects with other departments
Design program material pieces for fabrication in the Fab Lab
Active role in the preparation and support of corporate events and student contests such as FIRST Robotics Events, MIT Lemelson Invent Teams, Maker Faire
Support events hosted by Value Added Resellers and our 3DExperience Fab Lab
Create video content to support the sales and marketing early engagement team

The Challenges ahead

This Intern/co-op will assist in the development/support of the engineering education team and our community of students, educators, researchers, makers, startups, in the 3DExperience LAB, a new incubator/accelerator space and Fab Lab Intern will support the product development and design products such as SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids, SOLIDWORKS xDesign In the Fab Lab, intern will learn the operations of equipment such as 3D Printers, Electronic workbench, Laser Cutters, Mills, Robots, Electronic Bench, Sewing Station and support classes for employees and leaders in education and the maker community

Your Key Success Factors

Actively enrolled in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD program for the duration of the co-op; cannot not graduate or have graduated
Minimum cumulative GPA 30
Ability to work onsite; no remote or offsite permitted
SOLIDWORKS Certified SOLIDWORKS Associated (CSWA) required
Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP), preferred
Experience with competitive teams such as FIRST Robotics, Formula SAE
Strong functional use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Access or SQL
Ability to teach a small group about technology both face-to-face and video recorded
Current member of an engineering team, eg BAJA, robotics
CAM Certification Machining Skills (CNC Mill)
Advance knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint functions
Experience with raspberry pi & Arduinos
Proficiency in Video production using Camtasia and Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to work independently and/or within a collaborative team structure
Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn
Highly organized with critical attention to details
Strong communication skills in two parts 1) very strong writing skills utilizing the rules of English grammar; 2) verbally clear, concise, and grammatically correct oral (speaking) communication skills in English
