Department Profile

ETS Provides a reliable, secure and agile technical platform for Morgan Stanleys business applications and operations ETS enables business operations and delivers collaboration and productivity tools to our internal and external clients ETS provides production management, quality assurance, and end user services for Institutional Securities and Support Services and delivers first-line defences to manage the IT risks to the Firm, address the evolving cyber threat landscape, and meet regulatory expectations ETS also works with Investment Banking to manage the Firms strategic relationships with the technology community, including venture capitalists, established technology companies, and start-ups

Team Profile

MSDE is responsible for shaping the SDLC within Morgan Stanley by implementing the tools, systems, and processes used by all developers in the Firm for software development and deployment

The candidate will be working with a global team of experts on modernizing the Firms SDLC platform Train to enable cloud based tooling and distribution Train is used by thousands of developers, across a diverse set of programming languages, technology stacks, and platforms, and is continually evolved to stay current with the state of art in SDLC practices and tooling

The right candidate will have a good understanding of current best practices in software development and software distribution along with hands-on experience with multiple cloud based development and distribution platforms

Qualifications

Skills Required

- Hands-on development experience in Python, C#, or Java

- Highly technical and passionate about SDLC tooling and processes

- Familiar with the tools of the trade experience working with multiple SCM systems, code review systems, build tools, test frameworks, code quality tools, CI systems, and IDEs

- Experience integrating development and deployment tools with Azure or AWS

- Experience working as a developer on a large-scale project in an agile, globally-distributed environment

- Interested in getting to bottom of things - to understand how they work and why

Skills Desired

- Prior experience developing tools for build automation, continuous integration, automated testing, code quality continuous delivery, large-scale software distribution, and change management

- First-hand experience with pitfalls of Docker and Kubernetes and understanding of how to use these them to realize enterprise scale software distribution

- Experience working with multiple compiled, interpreted, and scripting languages

- Web development experience, preferably with multiple frameworks

- System administration experience on Windows or Linux
