Role and Responsibilities Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager to join Oracle Netsuite NSGBU Operations Site Reliability Engineering team

SRE Managers at Oracle Netsuite oversee small teams of engineers responsible for the overall health and operational reliability of our systems Youll use your combination of technical depth, organizational skills, and verbal agility to build and lead a team of some of the best operations engineers in the industry
The SRE Manager is a technical leadership position requiring passion for problem solving , a person who believes that automation is a key component to operating a large-scale systems and who relishes the opportunity to lead and motivate highly skilled SRE engineers working with globally distributed teams who provide 24x7 support of Site Reliability Operations across various technologies

Responsibilities

Operational level ownership of Oracle Netsuite Systems ensuring the highest levels of availability and performance

Monitor Oracle Netsuite mission-critical systems, ensuring that they are operational and highly available
Act upon infrastructure issues- assigning an SRE to resolve any issues, assisting where needed

Collaborate with other operational and development teams during triage and resolution of operational issues
Collaborate with Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) team on major incident response, communicate expected downtimes and estimated resolution time to key stakeholders
Participate in post-incident review of any infrastructure issues reporting on causes, solutions and implemented strategies to prevent reoccurrences
Assist in root cause analysis for incidents, and design solutions (both software and human processes) that will help to ensure the same problem doesnt happen in the same way again
Engage cross-functionally and establish product & process improvement plans to reduce support effort and increase product/service availability Continually refine the process and tools
Identify opportunity for increased monitoring capabilities and drive improvement and automation activities

Team Leadership,

Working to ensure that the SRE Team is cohesive, highly engaged and highly regarded across the NSGBU organization
Oversee the employment experience and professional development of all SRE team members
Contribute to the development and growth of talented operations engineers ranging from junior to senior levels of experience
Individually engage with team members on a regular basis to ensure team and individual objectives are being met, workload is manageable, and any blockers or issues are being addressed
Ensuring technical staff is current and trained on the latest technologies as well as new releases of our products & Services
Manage staffing levels to effectively ensure SREs resources for 7-day operational coverage

Qualifications and Education Requirements Information Technology degree, or degree from a technical or Engineering discipline
Experience leading staff in a fast-paced IT Operations environment like NOC or SRE teams
Knowledge of Monitoring tools (Icinga/Nagios), log aggregation tools (ELK stack,)
Working experience with common ITIL Service Lifecycle processes such as Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operations, and Continual Service Improvement

Demonstrated understanding of Linux Server Platforms and Architecture
Cloud Services, such as Azure, AWS, or OCI
Virtualization platforms and architecture
Networking technologies
Database knowledge (Oracle, NoSQL such as Cassandra and Redis)
Firewall and IT security principles
SRE Tools and Processes
Scripting in Bash, Perl, Python, or similar
Web-based Java/J2EE architectures

Preferred Skills Strong leadership and influencing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to assess situations and escalate appropriately, with a calm style-under-pressure
Proven ability to leverage systematic troubleshooting methodologies to solve complex cross-functional problems
Detail oriented The ideal candidate is one who naturally digs as deep as they need to understand the why
Dynamic and fun, with a proven track record for innovation and thought leadership
Proactive, outgoing approach towards introducing ideas and participating in detailed technological discussion
Prior experience in a programming, Dev Ops or SRE role
Previous experience managing a technical team with a high level of emotional intelligence to understand how to get the best out of your team

Additional Notes Staff Management experience with performance management /development planning experience a plus
