We are currently looking for experienced site reliability engineers to join our OAL technology team and use the latest technologies to empower Oracles Analytics community by building creative engineering solutions that solve operations problems By thoughtfully determining opportunities for automating toil you will improve the end-user experience and enable our engineering & support organizations to run highly reliable services

What Youll Be Doing

Engage, improve, and automate the entire BI lifecycle for Oracles analytics cloud from conception, design and implementation of new functional or technical features through to production support, monitoring and scale-out
Support cloud services before they go live through system architecture consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
Progress our analytics systems by driving changes that automate away toil and improve velocity and reliability Ensure business critical analytics systems are set up correctly and maintained by writing code that automates repetitive manual tasks
Drive reliability, performance, and innovation across all of Oracles analytics systems
Identify metric and KPIs that enable proactive identification of potential problems and track progress to reducing MTTD and MTTR and increasing MTBF and MTTF
Identify and implement automation opportunities to drive down repetitive processes, reduce technical debt and improve system reliability
If done right, you will never encounter the same problem twice

About You

You have deep expertise in analyzing complex systems, anticipating problems and finding ways to mitigate risk
By incorporating your knowledge of SRE processes, you will affect change and lead development of innovative improvements and world-class practices
You have the ability to see the big picture of how are analytics systems relate to other systems in the stack from security, to platform, to end-user
You have a systems and software background

Required Qualifications

BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent
Software Tools Ansible, Gradle, Oracle Analytics / BI EE
Software Languages Java / Groovy, Python, SQL
Experience with the following types of projects
Continuous Integration / Delivery lifecycle including test automation
Infrastructure as Code
BI Tools Oracle Analytics Cloud, RPD Development and patching
Oracle Database
Development on Cloud - any platform (Oracle, AWS, Azure)


Able to communicate difficult problems and complex solutions clearly and effectively
Excellent analytic and problem solving ability
Ability to thrive within a globally distributed engineering team
Quick learner and ability to teach/mentor others
Self motivated with ability to prioritize and multi-task

Technical Experience (any of the following would be an advantage)

Gradle, Maven, Jenkins
Terraform, Ansible
Kubernetes, Docker
Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search
Spark, Kafka, Flink, Hive

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Work with Oracles world class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracles global infrastructure

As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs Develop conversion and system implementation plans Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization BS or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems
