The Business

Tektronixs Service and Solutions (SSO) business, encompasses the sales and delivery of repair, calibration, spare parts, professional services, asset management services, and customer care in support of Tektronix, Keithley, Fluke and multi-vendor instruments sold to technology, life-science, medical device, manufacturing, Mil/Gov, automotive, education and other customer segments globally

THE POSITION

This position is responsible for providing overall strategic direction, leadership, and tactical execution of commercial Japan SSO teams and operations to deliver consistent revenue growth with new and existing customers The position is responsible for alignment with local Fluke and Tektronix instrument sales team in effort to maximize both service and instrument sales Position has responsibility to achieve sales and revenue quotas and targets, for talent management of the commercial team members, and for relationship management with customers The ideal candidate for the position will have a demonstrated track record of entrepreneurship, people leadership, customer engagement and success, and reliable sales achievement performance Service delivery (operational) experience is a plus, as the successful candidate for this position will be considered as a potential eventual successor for the Director/GM NE Asia SSO position

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for revenue and sales quota achievement for Japan - annual revenue of approximately $16M USD

Lead commercial sales teams as Playing Manager and functions including Manage Account Managers and Inside Sales (3 persons)

Collaborate with Product Line/Instrument Sales teams in the region to develop and implement strategies and account plans to maximize instrument and service revenues

Collaborate with instrument sales teams to drive a high attach rate of service options at time of instrument sales

Directly lead inside Sales functions responsible for service contract renewal, and post point of sale service contracts

Drive penetration of asset management and managed services into OEM instrument customer base and new strategic customers

Lead efforts to respond to and win large, complex RFPs; provide leadership to align with other SSO regions and leadership team members for multi-region, multi-product line opportunities

Develop expertise and utilize Fortive Business System (FBS) acumen and provide leadership to effectively deploy FBS tools to drive improvement in commercial results, operational results, and customer satisfaction

Work effectively with all levels of the organization Drive high levels of employee engagement

Build and develop a strong leadership team and succession plan for all key roles

Communicate effectively with the organization, interact at all levels within the organization and visibly lead employee engagement initiatives

The primary responsibility of the Service Sales Manager is to deliver against the financial and growth expectations of the business, exceed customer expectations, and drive talent development and employee engagement This is expected to be accomplished through effective development and execution on thoughtful business strategies and a strong commitment to talent and organizational development The Service Sales Manager will build on the base strengths of the business to accelerate growth through both organic methods and acquisition opportunities

The successful candidate for this role is expected to develop into increasingly significant Tektronix or Fortive leadership roles Future promotional opportunities are dependent on the candidates ability to deliver sustainable results across all Core Value Drivers and establish a clear path forward for the business

Professional Qualifications

Consistent track record of delivering above market results P&L ownership experience mandatory

A minimum of ten years of progressive of commercial, operational and technical leadership experience in a technical/complex services environment Experience in B2B and Fortune 500 sectors is highly preferred

Prior experience in leading multi-location teams

Strong track record of successful collaboration with product sales teams and customers/partners

Demonstrated ability to enhance the competency and skill base of the organization through developing the existing team and showing a relentless approach to talent acquisition

Demonstrated excellence in developing and executing strategy for new and/or adjacent market share gains

Strong execution track record utilizing FBS or similar (Kaizen, Lean, etc) for sustainable continuous improvement, performance and growth

Experience in dynamically allocating resources and investments to areas of highest return

Strong financial acumen, with a demonstrated and thorough understanding of profit and loss, pricing, and how to maximize revenue

Experience in working seamlessly across all levels of an organization and in development of effective relationships with executive leaders from key customers

Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives

Excellent communication skills including high proficiency with English and Japanese both written and oral

Medical or Industrial knowledge is preferred to execute strategic business segment
