Roles and Responsibility

Service Manager

Description The Service Delivery Manager (SM) has the responsibility for managing life cycle ordering requests for services defined as a MACD (pre-defined scope and price) as well as all transport circuit and standard product procurement (excluding custom hardware procurement) support on projects They may partner with business operations and billing environments to ensure that the requested network services are correctly implemented, with all decisions ultimately at the discretion of the SM The SM is solely responsible for managing the performance of the customer and their service commitments, per the established shared expectation This position requires the following project coordination and decision-making (small to mid-size projects which do not qualify for formal Project Management support); management of complex life cycle delivery with a focus on high speed and emerging services; full accountability of all escalation and expedite situations for the services they are implementing; ownership and management of the customer experience; order status and tracking; relationship management; Competency Center partnership management; identify process issues and coordinate appropriately to resolution Service installations can often require after-hours coordinated activity and/or unplanned after-hours accessibility involving customer-specific change controls, time-zone variances, expedited activity, and/or SM participation in a cutover

Required SkillsCandidate must have customer service and project co-ordination management background (Telecom), along with a strong knowledge services and provisioning life cycles Candidate must also have a minimum of 2-4 years experience working in Telecom Order Validation process or more of the following complex voice ordering processes, complex data ordering processes

Required SkillsCandidate must be skilled in key decision-making based upon the requirements and best interest of the customer Often, decision-making requires impromptu, independent action Strong interpersonal; oral and written communications Expertise with desktop applications (Excel, Word, etc)

Required SkillsAbility to quickly learn applications and process Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision in a non-structured environment Superior interpersonal skills required to work with other departments/subsidiaries and the client to develop timelines for project deliverables Customer Change Control knowledge desired ITIL Foundation/Prince 2 foundation Certification

Knowledge and experience inProject Planning & Management - Able to establish clearly defined objectives & deliverables, build executable project plans, lead projects to completion on time, within Scope, Schedule and Cost targets (managing triple constraint), to deliver results that meet/exceed customer expectations

Communication - Able to provide clear, crisp written and verbal communications for work instructions, customer updates, status report dashboards, negotiations, and issue management Follow PMI PMP 9 knowledge areas and execute within project plan Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, and Procurement Management

Customer Relations - Able to understand customer requirements; deal with difficult/sensitive situations, conflict resolution, associated with technical, business, or personnel situations Builds partnership relations with support groups and customer while instilling confidence within the customer Ensure customer understands their responsibility in transition as well as customer concurrence / formal acceptance of deliverables transferring PM responsibilities to steady state

Technical Knowledge - Has high level knowledge of networking technology to include hardware, software, network management tools, and protocols across LAN, WAN, IP Telephony / Voice, Firewall and Network Management platforms to enable effective communications, problem identification, and manage resolution of issues

Knowledge and experience inFluent English Excellent written and spoken

Industry Tools MS-SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, Project Professional, Access, Visio)

Multi-tasking

Working independently with minimal supervision in a non-structured environment

Interpersonal skills to work with other departments/subsidiaries and the clients to develop timelines for project deliverables, and setting proper expectations and delivering updates on project status Prior experience interfacing directly with customers, project managers, internal

Project management principles and able to learn and apply new knowledge and project management expertise to the needs of the business

Skill and proficiency in many project management and data network engineering functions and the ability to integrate across disciplines

Knowledge of communication technologies and networking technologies

Flexible, analytical, stress resistant and a team player

Able to work in an autonomous fashion

Demonstrated exceptional performance (demonstrated results above expectations)

Work in 24x7 / Various time zones as per customer requirement

Working with telecommunications carriers

CertificationsBachelors of Science/BE with relevant exp will also be considered

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification/ITIL Foundation is required
