Clarivate is embarking on a new era of growth and development through continued improvement of current core products, development of new products in adjacent/new markets, and through acquisitions For greater focus, we have moved from a structure of five business units to a structure of two product groups; the Science Group (SG) and the Intellectual Product Group (IPG) And, most importantly, we are adding the role of Chief Product Officer to transform IPG into a product lead organization

Position Summary

As the Sr Vice President, Product Development, you will report directly to the President, IPG and be responsible for the product vision, strategy, and creation/execution of the product roadmap You will manage a diverse team of Product Managers, Product Owners/Business Analysts, and UX, Operations and Innovation professionals

Role Responsibilities

In short, your responsibility will be to build great products that will delight our clients and create sustainable value through profitable revenue for the business This will be accomplished through creating and sustaining a dynamic - build, buy, partner - strategy that keeps IPG at the forefront of creating innovative and commercially vibrant products, services, and solutions

To be successful you will combine passion with intellectual curiosity about the industry, the markets we serve, and our clients and prospects, and thereby have an in-depth understanding of the market dynamics, the clients needs/pain points, and the competitive landscape to drive client and user growth You will combine strong commercial and technical acumen with natural communication and leadership skills

Build Process and Effective Execution

Develop business cases for potential opportunities (partnerships, product solutions, asset acquisitions), including market sizing, market segmentation, pricing/packaging, and financial analysis (ROI)
Creation, execution, and management of the product roadmap across multiple product and service lines
Implement data driven strategies to measure usage in various ways that enable customer success on our platform and allow full monetization of the value created

Build Relationships and Demonstrate Leadership

Help lead and create the companys strategic direction, defining and articulating new opportunities, and working closely with executive leadership, our technology team, and the various business teams to articulate the product goals and direction
Act as a player/coach, rolling up your sleeves to work alongside your team, while providing thoughtful guidance, strong leadership development, mentorship and coaching for a team of product managers
Communicate effectively, building consensus across multiple constituencies
Build organizational talent via both internal placements as well as external recruiting
Identify best-of-breed companies as potential partners and/or vendors

Role Requirements

Experience

Demonstrated performance in a product management senior leadership role with a minimum of 10-years experience in a senior management role (SAAS Product, Technology, or Operations preferred)
Experience owning a P&L of substance, whether a $100MM P&L in a senior management role, or as a founder/CEO/CTO/Partner of a start-up Preferably a b2b or information sector business with mix of recurring and non-recurring revenue product lines
Strong technical background, with 5 years experience in an engineering, technology or product area
Strong experience in managing complex operational functions in a matrix environment
Proven track record in effectively leading and managing teams to produce on-time, high-quality deliverables with a high level of customer satisfaction
A track record of recruiting, developing and motivating top talent

Professional verbal, written & presentation communications skills, including comfortable presenting at C-level, both internally and externally

Capable of handling multiple complex projects and assignments concurrently

Education

Bachelors Degree is required
MBA or Masters Degree in Finance, Technology preferred
Certificates in areas such as Six Sigma and PMP are a plus
