Role Overview

This position is for a Senior Program Manager responsible for Life Cycle Value Stream Management of all assigned product lines Primary assigned products will include Surveillance or Navigation products for the Commercial Avionics markets Primary responsibilities for this position include strategic planning for the assigned product lines, execution of approved discretionary developments, interfacing directly with OEM and airline customers, managing the products through their life cycle and creating cross-business product synergies to support business unit objectives

The strategic planning responsibilities include understanding and identifying product requirements for key pursuits, developing product line roadmaps and developing product technology roadmaps in support of Strategic Financial Planning and Annual Operating Planning In addition, understanding and leveraging cross business unit synergies to further product line developments across the company

The tactical execution responsibilities include cost, schedule, technical performance, risk management, product support, manufacturing, and quality of all assigned product lines The Program Manager directs all phases of programs and projects from inception through completion The Program Manager participates in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes They also coordinate the preparation of business plans, proposal work statements, product plans, and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms and conditions of contracts

Qualified candidates should have a strong technical background in avionics products and systems, with experience leading and managing large, complex product or system developments Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to balance technical knowledge and business savvy to manage a very strategic product line for Commercial Avionics Considerable emphasis will be placed on execution to both cost and schedule, but the candidate must also be experienced in performing risk management, meeting technical performance requirements, and meeting Design to Cost goals

Qualified candidates should also have a strong understanding of Operations, including factory transition, lean cost accounting, procurement, subcontract management, and demand planning

This position is based in our Melbourne, FL facility

This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated via frequent interactions with customers, suppliers, program management, marketing, engineering, and operations This position also requires strong leadership and team building skills A qualified candidate must be able to lead and motivate cross functional teams
MBA degree is preferred

Basic Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelors degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
