About The Opportunity

Senior Manufacturing Technicians (SMT) process production material, monitor the operation and ensure production equipment is functioning properly SMTs maintain the process and analytical equipment while maintaining accuracy and adherence to specifications Communication skills are critical for interaction with other team members and handling production flows across shifts Leads team in resolving equipment repair issues Develops, documents and implements PM procedures Performs failure analysis activities and all major PMs according to specifications

Key Responsibilities

Abides by and adheres to safety policy throughout the plantActively participates in improving or identifying safety issues throughout the plant Commonly performs routine safety audits Actively leads or facilitates Safety meetings or corrective actions

Employee has an active role in the team and contributes to the team by identifying and adhering to the teams standards and normsAt times, theteam member may lead team discussions or activitiesHelps create an atmosphere that fosters teamwork and other attributes needed to achieve the teams goalsHelp resolve and avoid conflict
Ability to lead team discussions, and effectively participate / communicate within all levels of the organization
Intermediate knowledge of Window based applicationsAble to input, edit, and modify word processing and spreadsheet applicationsGeneral knowledge and use of MS Office applicationsComprehensive knowledge of custom software required to perform job requirements

Advanced knowledge and use of 5S and TPM activitiesActively participate in defining activities, or requirements used on the shop floor to help create a totally productive manufacturing environment

Able to perform all required PMs, Calibration, Set-up, Change-over, and functional requirements of a group of equipment (Cell or Line), or type of equipment (Lab or Diagnostic)Must be able to identify and interpret hourly performance criteria, and react accordinglyAt times, may act as the lead contact for the areaMust be able to teach, coach, and train other on basic operation of a specific piece of equipment or operationAdvanced knowledge of affect on part characteristics including feeds, speeds, spline design, induction hardening requirements, and tool life properties to include material Specs and Cryogenic treatmentIntermediate knowledge of coolant compounds, cutting fluids, and oil based Vs water based products is essential

Advanced Operation and knowledge of all equipment in assigned areaMust be able to interpret advanced drawings, blue prints, or other technical documents in order to accomplish task knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GDT) is essentialMust be able to develop documents such as schematics, PI&D, or layouts using CAD tools Able to perform advanced mechanical / electrical task in repair of, or Calibration of equipment, to include Troubleshooting / repair, replacement of similar or redesigned components, Predictive maintenance techniques (Vibration Analysis, Lubrication studies, Thermography,) PLC programming, automation interface, CNC programming, electrical / electronic installationAble to build and fabricate electrical circuits or mechanical systems, as designed by engineeringRequired to determine component list and sourcing for projectsAble to develop simple mechanical, electrical and /or electronic designs to meet project intent, using industry standards, and generally accepted shop practicesDevelop action plans and training plans for equipment specific trainingHelp train/ develop other mechanics / electricians as assigned

Help develop plans to increase through-put, or reduce cost in Tooling, Scrap, Machine reliability, Process Capability, Staffing, Floor space Technical lead for specific equipmentProvide team member and technical support on cross-functional problem solving teamsDevelop process flows, or Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) for assigned equipmentDefine continuous improvement activitiesDevelop drawings and support documents needed to operate manufacturing or facility equipmentVerify and write PMs, Spare parts list, and other documents that support TPM activitiesFamiliarity with common problem solving techniques such as DOE, Ishikawa Diagrams, 5 Ys, Shanin, and 8D
Help define equipment requirements, cycle times, TPM components, upgrades, and common componentsInitiate rebuild details and quotesIdentify opportunities for improvement, or new technologies for the current processMay add input into packaging, material flow, or logistics of material flowCan help define / assess ergonomic issues
Must understand the manufacturing scheduling system and react accordinglyUnderstand areas capacity / abilities and build quantities and type per the plan

Act as a technical expert, or knowledge expert in problem solving techniques Facilitate group discovery sessions in helping to identify root-cause As an individual contributor, identify problems that exist inter - intra plant, and devise solutions Drive problem solving solutions to closure Document, gather data, and use trend analysis to identify root cause Qualifications / Experience / Skills

Minimum Requirements

Associates Degree PreferredHigh school diploma required
10 Years manufacturing experience preferred

Read and write the English language
