The Role Responsibilities

In representing Hong Kong Digital Banking to Group Technology, the post shall be seen as a customer Responsibilities include Service Improvements Reviewing progress of Group Technology (GT) service improvement initiatives for the country, escalating and contributing ideas and solutions as appropriate;
Service Resumption in IT Incidents Driving fast service assumption during IT incidents or outages Be able to coordinate the efforts of relevant technology teams and communicate effectively with the stakeholders
Risk Ensuring that GT respond to all forms of end-to-end Retail Banking technology risk needs, including all audit, local regulatory, compliance, DR, BCP technology component, obsolescence, cyber security needs Escalate material technology risks to Technology System Delivery (TSD) Heads and senior TSD managers for attention as appropriate
Change Management Ensuring that the Technology Service (TS) change management process caters for all Digital Banking change needs, and that any complementary in-country approval processes are confirmed with TS Be able to pay attention to detail to changes and understand their risk of impacting system stability
Strategy Communication of country business strategy and direction to TSD & TS teams and influencing TSD&TS to ensure that approved business plans have matching technology investment plans available for business investment committee evaluation
Satisfaction Gauging business satisfaction with overall GT service on a regular basis Feedback to be channelled into TSD & TS for improvement planning Also ensuring business awareness of GT plans accordingly

In representing Group Technology to Hong Kong Retail Banking Business, the post shall be seen as a Technology ambassador to business and advocate for change Responsibilities as such will be largely the reciprocal of the above and include

Ambassador Full GT representation in Retail Banking, noting that each GT group bears full accountability for provision of respective GT services to the business
Problem/Incident Management For incidents having significant business impact, support the problem/incident management process which is owned by TS This will mainly involve the communication/escalation to business management of service impact, recovery process, root cause, and mitigating actions, and communication back to TS and TSD of business concerns
Forums Suitable executive forum representation of GT, such as RB Business Risk Forum and major initiative in Retail Banking channel platform The post will facilitate/coordinate business-facing forums by involving the relevant TSD and TS personnel
Strategy Provide technology thought leadership and influence country business strategy with the effective and innovative deployment of technology
Risk Ensure that country exposure to each form of technology risk is understood and managed Ensure regulator and external audit 2-way communication, submission requirements and reporting needs are met by GT to address any such legal and compliance expectations
Governance Provide Retail Banking technology governance and participate and lead forums to address service, risk, and quality, and communicate initiatives and improvements;

Business knowledge

Digital Banking channel knowledge (Mandatory) At least 5 years of relevant experience
Understanding of current business issues, challenges, priorities and targets

People and change management

At least 10 years experience of directly managing teams of managerial and operational staff
Knowledge of change management tools and processes, inclusive of the ability to effectively use these in the context of a complex programme
Demonstrable understanding of resource management, and the ability to create and implement a management framework for a solutions programme
Possesses an approachable style, with a proven ability to manage and motivate staff
Demonstrable understanding and experience in solution provision, skills identification and development team leadership
Evidence of successful management of change programmes involving outsourcing, transitions and major service change
