Senior Finance Manager - Health & Surveillance

Why this role matters

The role is responsible for the finance business partnering for both the Health unit and Surveillance unit within the Local Government and Health sector in Major and Public Sector, acting as a trusted advisor to the management teams of these areas

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in shaping the future strategic direction of the sectors Providing financial leadership to translate strategy into practical solutions and day-to-day working practices and will be a key member of both units Senior Management Teams

You will also help to drive business performance to deliver financial targets for the Health and Surveillance units, leading the budgetary and financial control activities

What youll be doing

Drive business performance to deliver financial targets for the Health and Surveillance units, leading the budgetary and financial control activities across both

Personally responsible for Legal/fiduciary accountability eg contractual financial information provided to Government customers/Cabinet office via Open Book and ownership/accountability for specific SOX processes

Responsibility for building and maintaining strong senior manager level relationships both internally and externally with customers, suppliers or other major bodies

Sets agendas, identifies opportunities and drives best practice and provides insight on finance work area(s) or specialism

Responsible for managing and driving the performance of the team (direct and virtual), and being an advisor and coach to the team

Well also need to see these on your CV

Fully Qualified accountant (eg CIMA, ACA etc) with 4 PQE

Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance

Strong communication skills drawing on relevant data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences

Data Management and Analysis
