The Role

Join us as a Sr Designer - Development, you role require both technical and excellent soft skills This role has 2 important components Develop the understanding of the as is model which leverages the on premise hosting and contribute towards defining the production support processes around this and Propose a run model for the AWS hosted target state Scope covers environment support for both development and production environments, Release Management, Defining the business Operating Model This role also demands engaging with Vertical and Horizontal teams like Engineering and Architecture, Application delivery teams, Governance team and existing production support team etc

What the Business does

This role is based in Credit Risk Solution department of the Enterprise Solutions at RBS; India Technology Services develops IT solutions and critical support services to continually improve the Banks competitive edge, profitability and client focus

Enterprise Solutions aim is to achieve a continuous delivery state ensuring the fast, predictable and uninterrupted flow of planned work that delivers value to the business whilst minimising the impact and disruption of unplanned work so that our business can enjoy a stable and secure technology service Currently set-up in functionally aligned Programme and Centralised functions, and built upon the principle of WoW

Team is responsible for supporting multiple Credit Risk applications, building awareness on controls with various stakeholders, carrying out adequacy and effectiveness check and tracking/resolving issues, answering user queries, supporting internal & external audits as per organisation audit plans Scope of task also covers deployments, infrastructure reviews, Change Management, Business improvement along with following SOX controls

Your Responsibilities

As a Sr Designer - Development, your key responsibilities will include
Provide proactive support for end user application issues, escalated by the stakeholders (Business, project teams)
Develop strong working relationships with the Level 3 support resources with Application Development teams and infrastructure support teams to resolve application and environment issues
Define SLE and SLA for the various application going live on AWS
Responsible for Identifying what all metrics (for example from the service delivery perspective the key metrics like SLA breaches, high ageing incidents and problem tickets, backlog processing efficiency for incidents carried over from previous months etc) are measured and tracked on regular basis and reported to the stakeholders
Gather, analyse and report system performance, support service statistics, Billing and various other KPI
Responsible for Monitoring of business critical batch processing controlled by Airflow/ AWS batch Notifying systems readiness for business for different business locations
Responsible for defining the Governance requirements for the various AWS transformation projects planned to go live for the first time this It include BAU Support guidelines, Support area checklist, Preparing Training plans, Provide the Training to the production support, define revised RACI matrix on new cloud Platform etc
Responsible for engaging with the Engineering and enterprise cloud platform team to define the process, collect the evidences and get the agreement with the stakeholder around the technology controls like Redundant Access management, Toxic Access Controls, Cryptographic Key & Certificate Management, Logging and Monitoring requirements, Security-Patch Management Process etc
Responsible for engaging with the Engineering and enterprise cloud platform team to define the Business Operating model which will cover each and every engineering aspect which is to be implemented Along with this it will cover around the operating model for each of the technology eg Operating model for the Access Management of AWS account, Tableau , Quick Sight, How certificates and private key will be managed, process around when security key is compromised, clear segregation of role and responsibility of AWS & RBS support team etc
Responsible for carrying out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to determine the origin of problems, escalating to 3rd Level support resource within Application Development or with AWS Support based on the RCA done, when the situation requires
Ensure documentation on all production issues, actions and resolutions in-line with best practices, to ensure knowledge accessibility and continuous learning amongst team
Build an extensive and practical understanding of Credit Risk applications Understand how the applications are used by end-users across the business, and map this to a technical understanding of how the functionality works and data moves through the system
Proactive with improving day to day practices

The Skills youll need

In order to be successful in this role, you must have the following skills & experience
6 Years of experience in defining and implementing ITIL practices

Must Have
Should have worked on cloud based Service Delivery project
Sound understanding of the support processes like Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management
Hands-on experience around logging, alerting and monitoring tools
Experience in dealing with stakeholders
Experience of setting up standardised, repeatable, sustainable, and easily maintainable service processes for global delivery, and effective knowledge management for the same
Must be a good communicator who is able to articulate the issues and the action items to ensure the recovery as per the defined SLAs
Hands on experience in using Service delivery tools like Service Now
UNIX and shell scripting skills (shell/Perl scripts and general command line utilities)
Exposure to Agile and DevOps skills are must, to align with the WoW in a better and consistent way
Strategic thought process/Analytical mind-set should ensure to keep strategic agenda front and centre, while preparing executional plans
Determination and resilience to navigate through uncertainty or limited information, and overcome challenges
Ability to learn and adapt continuously in a fast-moving environment

Nice to Have
AWS certifications would be a plus hence AWS Cloud Foundation Certification or above
Best practices around pro-actively identifying control weaknesses Get the controls (applicable to IaaS / PaaS / SaaS Cloud deployments) independently assured in order to be able to reduce the risk profile
Experience/Good understanding of AWS ecosystem It includes AWS services like S3, EMR, EC2, Cloud Watch, Cloud Alert, Cloud Trail, Auto-scaling, IAM, Simple Notification Service, Quick Sight etc
Understanding of AWS services like lambda, Athena, AWS Trusted Advisor, KMS, SageMaker, Glue, VPC, Route 53, Airflow, Terraform, SAS Viya, Tableau, Quick Sight
