The individual in this position will be primarily responsible for representing the US Consumer, Operations and Technology, Institutional Clients Group and Global Functions businesses in all phases of the EEO Charge process, including investigation of claims, drafting position statements and other submissions to a variety of EEO state and federal agencies and the DOL, participating in fact-finding procedures, and where appropriate negotiating resolutions either before or during any conciliation efforts, and developing good working relationships with agency investigators and other personnel This individual will work closely with the lawyers on the team and report to a Director, Associate General Counsel in the Global Employment Law Center of Excellence

This position will also be responsible for internal reporting on the EEO charges, and for developing and training Human Resources on a variety of topics The EEO Charge Manager may also manage a small portfolio of litigations/arbitrations, assist Associate General Counsels with their litigation/arbitration dockets, and provide advice and counsel to business partners This position also functions as the subject matter expert on new state and federal employment laws that may impact Citis workplace and works on a team to implement any changes that may be needed

This position offers a candidate the ability to join the Global Employment Law Center of Excellence relatively early in his/her career and thus become familiar with Citis businesses and workplace policies and issues while at the same time continuing to grow and improve his/her skill set By working with more senior personnel on the team, the position provides knowledge development and mentoring as well as a path to advancement


The preferred requirements for this position include (i) extensive knowledge of the US Employment, Wage and Hour, and other labor laws; (ii) experience with representing clients in the EEO Charge process; (iii) excellent communication skills; (iv) excellent legal writing skills; and (v) ability to work collaboratively with the Employment Law team and with our internal partners

In addition to the above

JD degree, Bar Admission

At least 4 years of professional experience in employment law

Experience with financial institutions a plus

Exercise sound judgment and complete discretion
