The Role Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role are to

  • Develop and implement a robust, cost effective Capacity Management processes and strive for continuous improvement Assess and introduce new products that might improve efficiency & effectiveness of the process

  • Ensure an appropriate level of Capacity and cost for the Business and the supporting infrastructure through a constant cycle of review, optimization, forecasting, and influence

  • Minimise the adverse Capacity affects on the IT Infrastructure and the Business by proactive, review and planning and taking suitable actions in conjunction with the Technology stakeholders both within and outside the Organisation

  • Value-add to various technology streams by timely and proper engagement and recommending appropriate Infrastructure capacity solutions Influence infrastructure refresh and upgrades to maintain availability of the Infrastructure capacity

  • Infrastructure related risks and issues due to infrastructure capacity are identified, communicated, escalated and acted upon

  • Reduce the unused Infrastructure capacity, influence IT Recharges Demonstrate cost savings and cost avoidance of Infrastructure capacity wherever possible Infrastructure budgeting to accommodate the Business Growth and strive to deliver the infrastructure availability within the allocated budget

  • Demonstrate year on year decrease in the number of audits findings and capacity incidents in production

  • Develop influential and trustworthy working relationships with other Technology and Business teams to communicate and achieve capacity management Objectives

  • Manage the Vendors and Service providers for the successful delivery of the Capacity management processes and SLA

  • Work closely with outside Industry to identify and influence new technologies as standards to the organization in terms of better Infrastructure Capacity optimisation, improved Performance and reduced cost

Our Ideal CandidateTechnical

  • Must have

  • Sound knowledge of Enterprise Architectures, Infrastructure Hardware (Mid-Range Servers, Storage Area Networks), Operating Systems, Application System Software

  • Internals and Administration of products like Operating Systems, Databases, Web Servers, Application servers, messaging servers and reporting servers, network, storage etc

  • Strong understanding of Capacity Management principles, process, procedures and best practices

  • Technology Capacity Forecasting and Trend Analysis Capabilities

  • Sound knowledge of the capacity metrics of various hardware and software infrastructure and the interpretation of these metrics during incident, problem, capacity reviews

  • Capacity Audit and Risk Management

  • Clear understanding of Monitoring and Reporting tools

  • Configuration and Asset management

Nice to have

  • General Application Product Functionality within the Banking and Finance Industry

  • Clear understanding of the Infrastructure and Process Industry standards/ Roadmap Ability to map of the Industry standards and Roadmap to the Banks standards and Roadmap with gaps identified

  • Hands on experience on the use of True Sight Capacity Optimisation and other BMC products

  • Infrastructure Consolidation, Virtualisation, Cloud technologies

  • ITILV3, COBIT5 training (Fundamentals)

  • Certification in Capacity management

Non TechincalMust have

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, presentation and Stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to undertake Financial Cost Benefit Analysis, IT Recharges, Budgeting

  • Self motivated with good written and verbal communications and convincing skills with all levels of management

  • Excellent ability to prioritise and control activities and deliver results within budgetary and resource constraints

  • Independent and confident, but willing and able to harness the expertise of others working as part of any team

  • Continuous improvement and willingness to learn and implement new concepts, process, procedures, methodologies and products to excel in service delivery

  • Ability to manage external (vendor) resources and ability to interact and deliver with various technology domains both regional and global teams

Nice to have

  • Project management experience
