Job Title Application Support Analyst Production Support Analyst/Executive

Reporting to Application Support Lead

Job Purpose

Support Analyst responsible to Investigate and diagnose Velox production incidents actively using log monitoring tools and do thorough root cause analysis Responsible to address production issues by responding in a timely manner in accordance to the Service Level Agreement with the Business Should be able to provide systematic solutions and improvement ideas to eliminate unplanned downtime for the customer due to technical issues Analyses incidents and problems, finds and implements solutions in order to maintain production continuity and communicates this in a structured and clear manner to the business and technical stakeholders Capable to perform impact analysis, not only technical but also functional, able to explain complex and technical matters in a clear and concise way to non-technical people and/or clients

Must have skills for success in this role

Technical Skills

Minimum 3 years of experience in Application Support and operations roles
Hands on technical troubleshooting skills for web application build on Java/J2EE technologies
Strong Java code debugging skills using IDE like Eclipse/STS
Strong knowledge on production architectures
Experience working in Realtime production applications
Good understanding on Microservices architecture
Good knowledge on log monitoring tools for troubleshooting
Good understanding on AWS or basic production IT infrastructure
Good knowledge on ITIL processes (Incident Management)
Good understanding on Incident Management tools usage
Good understanding on version control systems like GIT
Experience in Unix/Linux, Java, Database, Batch/Control-M experience is a strong plus

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical analysis for the production incidents (30 PERCENT )
Provide resolution and root cause analysis for the incidents (20 PERCENT )
Address service requests and production maintenance support (5 PERCENT )
Perform impact analysis not only technical but also functional (5 PERCENT )
Actively monitor, acknowledges and works on production tickets (10 PERCENT )
Provide code/config fixes to the Velox applications in production(10 PERCENT )
Provide regular status updates to all stakeholders on the incidents accordingly to the agreed timelines with business(5 PERCENT )
Work with third party vendors and other teams for incident resolutions (2 PERCENT )
Provide deployment / release support for all major, minor releases of the product
Publish knowledge articles for the incidents and service requests (3 PERCENT )
Prepares technical documents for the standard operating procedures (5 PERCENT )


Minimum 4 years hands on experience in Java programming
Minimum 4 years of experience in application support and maintenance
3 experience in debugging and troubleshooting web applications
3 experience in Unix/Linux operating systems
4 experience in ITIL processes
Strong technical knowledge in Java web applications in Spring and Spring boot
Exposure to AWS, and exposure to NoSQL databases

Operational Skills

Extensive problem solving and debugging skills
Ability to independently apply production upgrades and support the products and technologies
Contributing to defining and documenting key production support processes and procedures and working to continually improve the level of service and overall experience we provide our hosting tenants
Working with SMEs to create and publish documentation, tenant communications, FAQs, and training materials for the enterprise cloud hosting platforms
Monitoring shared email, request queues, and problem ticket queues in order to properly triage, assign, and ensure resolution to questions and issues
First Level Support for cloud hosted REST web services applications
Good communication, listening and interpersonal skills
Pro-active behavior, problem solving attitude with extensive analysis experience

Willing to be on-call and flexible work hours
Strong willingness to learn and capable to acquire autonomously knowledge with minimal input
Stress resistant and able to work under time pressure to meet deadlines

Good to have knowledge in

Java, spring boot, microservices, spring framework, GIT, Eclipse or STS, Unix, Message Queues
Monitoring tools like splunk, kibana, appdynamics or any other industry standard ones
MongoDB (recommended) or any other NoSQL and sql database experience
AWS basics like S3, EC2 services
