What is the Senior Accountant-Financial Reporting in Financial Reporting group responsible for

The Senior Accountant of Global Financial Reporting has overall responsibility for preparation of various sections for SEC filings, earnings press releases filed on Form 8-K, and Forms 11-K for 401k Plan and ESIP as well as development and maintenance of templates for working papers supporting financial statement disclosures

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Senior Accountant-Financial Reporting

Operational Responsibilities include some or all of the following

Prepare earnings press releases filed on Form 8-K and related materials for Analysts call (earnings workbook)
Prepare Forms 11-K for 401k Plan and ESIP
Assist in the development and maintenance of templates for working papers supporting financial statement disclosures
Prepare various sections for SEC filings
Assist in completion of XBRL reports
Update the request list for the preparation of SEC filings
Participate in benchmarking projects on quarterly and annual SEC filings
Liaise with other finance departments, including consolidations, corporate accounting, corporate treasury accounting and global accounting policy, to obtain information for reporting purposes

Periodic Responsibilities

Collaborate with other groups and/or departments to assess the reporting implications of changes in US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, coordinate changes with other groups and/or departments, and extract the necessary information for financial reporting
Lead and participate in departmental projects as required
Coordinate preparation of the quarterly global impairment analysis for goodwill, intangibles and other assets

Other Responsibilities

Participate in the development of the Companys reporting policies and procedures, and their continuous improvement process

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Charted Accountants or equivalent required
A minimum of five years of related work experience, is preferred
Experience with automated financial systems, including the general ledger, is preferred
Proficiency in Excel and Word

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Charted Accountants or equivalent required

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the investment management and/or banking industries preferred
Exposure to consolidations, currency translation and international accounting and reporting issues
2-3 years of public accounting experience, is preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong oral/written communications skills
Organizational skills combined with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel
Ability to work with strict deadlines and timelines

Ability to assess problems quickly and determine to what level it should be elevated and communicated to the appropriate staff members
