Job profile summary Responsible for delivering the indirect sales strategy and financial performance targets including Sales Volume, Gross Margin and Overdue, managing local distributor partners and intermediaries/resellers in the sales territory or geography, finding prospect partners, coaching distributors and monitoring their financial position to ensure long term sustainable value for the company The scope of the role will influence the grade this can include financial accountability, geographical scope, leadership responsibilities and overall level of responsibility

Job Advert As part of BP, Castrol is widely acknowledged as the worlds leading specialist provider of Lubricant solutions Although best known for our expertise in developing lubricants for cars and bikes, we also produce lubricants that directly affect our daily lives in other ways such as in gas and electricity production, transport industries, construction, earth moving vehicles and the marine and industrial sector in general

We are now recruiting for a Sales Specialist to join our Indirect Sales team This role reports to the Regional Sales Manager and can be based in one of the coastal towns between Coffs Harbour and Central Coast or inland towns such as Tamworth, Gunnedah or Dubbo The primary purpose of this role is to maximise sales opportunities of the Castrol and BP branded lubricants and associated services throughout the territory accounts in line with budget requirements and company legislated Health, Safety and Environmental protocols

Key Priorities of the Role

* Develop and implement a territory plan to maximise sales opportunities for your channel
* Seek new business opportunities in line with the stated year plan and strategy
* Achieve sales and profit targets with a particular focus on turnover, gross margin and cost to serve customers
* Ensuring that the customer relationship management (CRM) system is updated on a daily basis and accurately reflects existing customer and prospects records
* Develop strong business relationships with all internal teams and other sales teams
* Proactively evaluate competitor and general market promotional activity for the purposes of developing new activity as well as sharing learnings within the team
*Participate in customer promotional activities, conferences and field days including occasional weekend or after business hours events
*Support local resellers in the region ensuring they participate and execute promotional activities and proactively seek new business
*Develop a robust Journey plan to ensure customer visitation cycles are met and ensuring lowest possible risk is achieved whilst on the road
* Ensure that all business activities under your control conform to all BPs code of conduct, legislative requirements as well as BPs strict Health, Safety and Environmental policies

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in a face-to-face sales role and be skilled using a variety of IT systems and software, including Microsoft Excel Applicants with sales experience in the automotive sector will be viewed favourably however your attitude will be more important than your product experience
