1Sales Manager

Position Overview

The Manager-Sales shall work within a small, multilingual team; the purpose of the role is to increase sales by penetrating into markets as well as developing and retaining new clients S/he shall focus on customer relationship management and day-to-day office management centres, leading and facilitating progression of the ‘Sales Team’, their work practices, policies, procedures and outcomes Be positive, outgoing and demonstrate confidence but appropriate disposition, be pro-active and work alongside other departmental managers to achieve efficient and effective sales development and progression Demonstrate excellent communication skills (in all mediums) and possess abilities to interpret, understand and summarise customer feedback S/he will drive continual improvements into the sales operating/management information systems Importantly, be able to use own initiative and proven sales experience to encourage excellent sales ‘practice’ throughout the sales team

Key role and responsibilities


·         Continually increase operating profit by designing and implementing a strategic business plan by penetrating markets and developing new sales leads through improved sales activity, methods and performance


·         Managing short, medium and long term, day-to-day sales activity inclusive of managing and development of sales personnel in coordination with Area Managers


·         Educate sales team personnel by establishing Investor Awareness Programs in the areas for new account sales, growth and profitability Interpret short and long term effects of sales strategies in operating profit/revenues


·         Assist sales personnel in establishing personal contact and rapport with decision makers


·         Be responsible for market development and building customer relationships in coordination with Area Managers

·         Liaise with Subordinates and Supervisors to ensure Sales targets are prioritised and maintained

·         Monitor sales procedures/performances and ensure records are comprehensively administered – use, develop and continue improving reporting mechanisms in coordination with Area Managers

·         Pro-actively communicate sales opportunities to Sales Team for follow up and closing

·         Work with the Sales team to ensure the delivery of quality customer service at all times

·         Provide cover as appropriate within the Sales team

·         Ensure all customers and potential customers are treated with professionalism, courtesy and respect at all times, in response to any enquiry or service they may be requesting

Accountability measurement parameters

·         Ensure and maintain increase in revenue by 20% every quarter in the assigned geography

·         Ensure sales closures and target deliverables are achieved / attained

·         Day to day coordination with the Subordinates for market development and building customer relationships

·         Pro-active and able to work without close supervision

·         An active and flexible team player, contributing and developing solutions to common problems

·         An excellent communicator both internally and externally in all mediums, with the ability to understand and summarise customers’ feedback into the system

·         Able to use his/her initiative in order to meet tight deadlines

·         Ability to manage and lead a team



·         Graduation or MBA (Both Can Apply) 

·         Experience Approximately 5 years E

·         Experience in wealth/portfolio management, financial planning or investment advisory in any one of the following products Mutual Funds (MF), Life Insurance (LI), General insurance (GI), Health Insurance, etc will be an added advantage 



·         Previous sales experience is essential

·         Previous management and team building experience is required

·         Experience in developing new clients is essential

·         Ability to use, develop and manage day to day reporting is required

·         Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information are essential

·         Good IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems and processes is required

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability

·         Proven ability to motivate and lead the sales team
