Recreation & Membership Manager

The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising the recreation department, promoting the recreation activities to potential clients Ensures a smooth operation to the highest standard as set by Kempinski

An impressive 100,000 square meters, the Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai comprises 347 luxuriously appointed rooms, of which 36 are exquisitely spacious suites Surrounded by pristinely landscaped tropical gardens are eight highly appointed royal villas with stunning views of the Palm Lagoon The hotels wide variety of international restaurants, boutique mall and cinema provide ample dining and entertainment attractions With its opening in 2018, the hotels classical design will complement the Kempinski Residences and Hotel Apartments Palm Jumeirah, which has been developed in the same architectural style and is located on the adjacent plot

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the safety of all guests and employees using the swimming pool, beach, gym and Kids Club areas
Responsible in maintaining the highest possible hygiene in recreation areas
Executes all administrative tasks at the Recreation department
Supervises and checks the cleanliness of entire recreation area, ensuring adequate supplies of cleaning items,towels, etc
Conducts routine inspection of the area of responsibility to ensure facilities and equipment is keep in good working order and takes corrective action when needed
Controls and analyses on an ongoing basis, departmental costs and benefit to ensure performance against budget
Monitors and controls inventories for operating equipment, linen and other supplies to ensure par stocks are maintained and costs and controlled
Maximize employee productivity and morale within the department and consistently maintain discipline within hotel guidelines and local regulations
Schedule employees in line with varying business levels in order to maximize productivity and minimize payroll costs
To select and recruit suitable employees for the department using prescribed set of policies and procedures
Train employees ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum levels of productivity and efficiency
Conduct annual evaluations, TTTTs to recreation team members
To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in regards to the hotel policy on Fire, Hygiene, and Health & Safety
To ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately
Manage day-to-day task of the operation in kids club, beach and swimming pool areas
Draw a sales plan/strategy for effective selling of the recreation facilities and services
To provide a high standard of service and motivation for recreational activities to guests and members
Manager the general promotion of the recreation and its facilities, be aware of all sales opportunities within the hotel at all times and fully conversant with all other hotel facilities
To participate in sales calls and promotions that will further improve or develop future membership sales
To motivate guests and members to adopt a regular routine of exercise
Complies with all local government rules and company policies relating to the hotel and recreation in particular
Ensures through effective supervision that all services provided are available and carried out efficiently
Maintains a high level of constant communication within the recreation and with all other departments
To develop strategic plans to ensure membership revenue targets are achieved
Direct the Membership Sales Executive on all aspects of targets, marketing and sales

Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the

hotel

Desired Skills & Qualifications

Should have a diploma / degree in hospitality
Previous experience working in a luxury 4 or 5 star hotel or serviced apartments environment is essential Skills and Knowledge Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing), Innovative,Pro-active and reliable
Customer driven with an extremely proactive and switched on personality and an outgoing and approachable character Passionate and with a pleasant and positive attitude
