The Department of Antibody Discovery and Protein Engineering is seeking a talented and highly motivated scientist for our hybridoma group The successful candidate will have a background in immunology and hybridoma development The new hire will be conducting hybridoma campaigns to identify novel antibodies to therapeutic targets The applicant will operate independently and in collaboration with other hybridoma team members and scientists across Research to develop our next generation of drugs The selected individual will be a well-organized, and a highly productive bench scientist that can design and execute experiments efficiently, as well as analyze, interpret and present data to multidisciplinary project teams

Position Requirements

To be considered, successful applicants will need to have the following background

A background in immunology, antibody structure/function, and experience in antibody development
Proven practical scientific experience with antigen design, immunization strategies, serum titer evaluation and cell fusions
Practical experience in sterile tissue culture techniques
Experience characterizing antibodies by ELISAs, HTRF and SPR/BLI as well as biotinylation/conjugation of antibodies
Ability to work in a team environment
Experience working with mouse and rat B-cells, generating fusions, high-throughput screening, lead selection, scale-up and freeze-thaw of hybridomas

Education/Experience Requirements

For R&D Associate II Bachelors Degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience or Masters Degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience
For Associate Scientist I Bachelors Degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience or Masters Degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with automation and high-throughput screening (eg Sciclone and Biomek) is a plus
Experience in molecular biology for gene recovery is a plus, but not essential
Experience in small-scale antibody expression and purification is highly desirable
Demonstrated experience in optimizing/troubleshooting protocols with a problem-solving mindset
Excellent organizational skills, record keeping and data presentation, and capable of independently designing and executing experiments
Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work within teams
Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities
