Product Quality Engineer - Minden, NV ( Job Number 1919980 )

Role Summary/Purpose

Support quality initiatives for the BHGE Bently Nevada business to improve product quality while driving down cost of failure for this $700MM business This Quality Engineer will leverage quality best practices across Bently Nevada to reduce cost of failure while improving customer satisfaction

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Product Quality Engineer, you will

Use data driven approach to support robust product quality measurements to forecast trends, help drive permanent solutions, and prevent potential manufacturing and field issues
Work closely with product line leaders, technology, and manufacturing to improve product quality based on data analysis and continuous improvement projects
Lead Root Cause Analyses and mentor others on proper application of Continuous Improvement tools (8D, Apollo, LSS etc)
Control those solutions by administering the QMS system including
Implementation and evolution of the QA program as described in the QA manual
Auditing for effectiveness
Driving closure of corrective actions
Leverage principles of Six Sigma to implement projects prioritized by the business case around those measures support all functions and work across functions to drive corrective actions
Provide technical communication and updates to our external customers, as required
Work with SQEs as needed to improve product reliability where vendor issues are identified
Mentor employees everywhere on effective use of Quality tools


Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Management from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality or engineering

Desired Characteristics

Previous experience with Bently Nevada products
Clear Thinker Ability to translate complex problems into clear, auditable requirements
Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills
Strong quantitative and analytical / statistical skills / computer skills
Demonstrated self-starter, ability to perform effectively with minimal oversight
RCA Trained or Certified
Lead Auditor Trained or Certified
Strong competence in SAP and other IT tools
Strong facilitation skills
Black Belt or Green Belt certified
Strong knowledge of quality systems, especially ISO 9001 and ISO17025 Extensive experience with internal or external quality system audits
