About Baxters Cleveland, MS Facility

Clevelands technology and automation is cutting edge It is the US sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly

About the Position

This is a key Operations Excellence and Engineering role supporting the upcoming launch of an exciting new surgical product for Baxters Cleveland, MS site This position will encompass new process design and optimization, support of the new product launch, and continuous improvement post-commercialization This is a high-visibility position that offers an individual the ability to make a significant contribution to the organization

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Design/modify/improve manufacturing and support processes using Operations Excellence techniques such as Total Loss Analysis (TLA) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
Product life cycle management including product design changes, material changes, Supplier Notice of Change (SNC) assessments, specification changes, etc
Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
Prepare estimates for various tasks and projects
Develop and set labor and machine standards to assist with manufacturing budgeting and planning
Drive Continuous Improvement Activities
Interface with plant and corporate groups as well as contractors and vendors
Manage start-up, debug, and commission new manufacturing processes
Equipment life cycle management including upgrades, replacement, and decommissioning
Provide technical support/troubleshooting to all plant departments
Demonstrate proactive communication and problem solving
Responsible for supporting and achieving Value Improvement Projects (VIPs)
Responsible for adhering to FDA Design Control standards and GMPs at all times
Responsible for creation and maintenance of all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, and log books
Employ DMAIC processes, lean manufacturing principles, and other Operational Excellence tools to achieve maximum throughput
Foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, and customer service

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Engineering or other technical area required Degrees in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering preferred
2 years Engineering / Manufacturing experience required FDA-regulated manufacturing preferred
Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification or industry standard equivalent is preferred

Project Management skills and experience are desired
Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing skills and experience are preferred
