Principal Sales Consultant - 190015FI

Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking an outstanding sales consultant to cover primarily India market

This role is part of a regional sales consulting team responsible for the technical pre-sales support of Open Cloud Infrastructure software, including Oracle Linux, Oracle VM and Cloud Native Tools

Key Requirements

Be comfortable engaging at all levels within customers and partner organizations
Translate customer requirements and IT strategies into deliverable solutions and transformation plans
Architect solutions to meet the unique requirements of Oracles emerging customers and deliver proof of concepts (POCs) and pilot implementations for Oracle Linux, Cloud Native and virtualization solutions portfolio
Learn new technologies and apply these concepts to customer needs
Define value propositions, positioning and differentiation to competitors solutions in addressing customer pain points
Define and drive a programmatic pre-sales consulting engagement approach into target accounts and territories
Support and develop existing customer and partner relationships and skills
Complete the technical requirement for request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP)
Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Oracles services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk
Promote the value of professional services in early sales cycle
Excellent communication and presentation skills over phone, email, webcast, video and public conference
Serve as a subject matter expert and present creative ideas in the community by producing exceptional whitepapers, webinars and presenting at high-profile industry conferences

Experience & Technical Skills

More than 7 years experience in pre-sales capacity, consultant role with customer focus, or equivalent experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills over phone, email, webcast, video and public conference
Good understand of selling process and selling cycle
Demonstrable technical curiosity in keeping abreast with new technologies, especially in Open Source Software and Tools
Strong technical knowledge in Linux is a must
Past experience with Virtualization platform eg Xen/KVM
Past experience with Kubernetes, Dockers and/or Linux Containers
Good working knowledge of Open Source tools, eg Chef/Puppet/Jenkins/Github/Grafana/Kibana/Prometheus
Good knowledge of software defined storage (Ceph/Gluster) and networking
Experience with application development or application modernization (containerization)
Knowledge of application architecture (application servers, integration patterns, microservices, Java EE, CI/CD, build management, etc)
Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and container technologies like OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes and Docker
Experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or similar and JavaScript
Experience in DevOps roles and the entire DevOps tool stack, senior position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in this domain
Proficiency with one or more of these languages, Python/Ruby/Go/Swift
Practical experience with Agile methodologies is a major plus
Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders in both technical and business audience
Good communication skills - verbal and written - with the ability to collaborate well in a team and across organizations
Interest, passion, and experience of working with open source technologies and communities is a plus
Willingness to travel up to 50 PERCENT domestically

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools Ability to implement the most advanced product features Thorough knowledge of system and application design In depth knowledge of competitors Demonstrated project management skills Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication Ability to travel as needed A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable
