Based in Farnborough, Hampshire, Fluor Limited is the UK operating arm of Fluor Corporation, one of the worlds largest publicly traded engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction (EPFC) and maintenance Companies offering integrated solutions for clients complex and challenging projects

From this office we undertake world class projects in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Nuclear, Industrial, Transportation, Telecommunications, Power, Mining and Government sectors working for clients including major oil and gas companies, national oil companies, major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, governments, private investors and industrial companies

To help us continue to grow our existing business and meet an exciting range of new project opportunities, we are expanding our leadership and technical teams in Farnborough across engineering, material management, contracts, Information Management and project controls

We are currently looking to recruit a Principal Piping Designer

Basic Job Requirements

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed This position has oversight of a specific area, and acts as a representative of the department in ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases This role has the responsibility to promote Fluors competitiveness within the global marketplace, by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence This position serves as Design Lead on assigned projects of difficult complexity design scope

Provide supervision, guidance and assistance to design team for specified area on large projects
Interface with all Piping groups and other engineering disciplines in FB and DEC office
Develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline design work
Develop estimates and schedules, progress reports, including manpower forecasts
Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines Piping
Supervise development and checking of complex piping drawings including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics and sketches

Other Job Requirements

Significant work related experience
Proven experience of liaising effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Accredited degree or global equivalent in technical field of study
Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
Practical field experience
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
