Job Description

Supports attorneys with global disputes and litigation, investigations, regulatory matters, data preservation, discovery, and other matters as assigned, including some administrative functions Provide support related to privacy, compliance, and cyber security matters


Monitor and Maintain Litigation Docket
Monitor service of process on Sabre and route filings as appropriate Docket and calendar all deadlines for litigation matters; advise in-house counsel of impending deadlines Maintain matrix of global litigation matters

Conduct and Manage Discovery/Electronic Discovery
Draft and manage litigation holds; conduct interviews/investigate issues as directed Prepare discovery responses, ensuring information provided is accurate and timely Negotiate with/act as point of contact for litigation support vendors Work with vendors and counsel to establish, maintain, search, and code electronic productions Categorize documents, prepare chronologies, and create production charts Create and maintain discovery files Create inventory and maintain chain of custody for all held assets

Preparation of Subpoena Responses and Other Responses
Respond independently to subpoenas, small claims court matters, garnishments, etc File bankruptcy claims as appropriate Prepare affidavits, declarations, exhibits, and other necessary documents for filings, under supervision of counsel

Research/Investigations/Litigation Support
Perform legal research, interact with senior level management and others to gather facts, participate in witness interviews, analyze documentary evidence, present findings, and make recommendations on next steps Prepare materials for case preparation Organize interview memos, digests, and other relevant documents Create and maintain electronic pleading/correspondence files Maintain panel counsel list Provide other litigation support as necessary

Other Duties
Communicate with outside counsel and internal clients; participate in/independently manage special projects; assist counsel with other matters as assigned Prepare and conduct presentations in areas of subject matter expertise Provide assistance with yearly legal budget process Provide support to attorneys in the coordination, implementation, and management of projects, policies, procedures, practices, and training

Job Requirements

Education Bachelors degree/paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program required

Preferred Experience

Minimum 10 years experience in law firm/in-house legal department providing litigation-related support
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Excellent judgment, strategic thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail
Exceptional organization and project management skills, ability to prioritize work, independently drive multiple initiatives to timely conclusion, take initiative, and follow-through skills
Able to meet tight deadlines, efficiently multi-task and present to groups
Proactive, team player, self-motivated, strategic, innovative; uses initiative with little or no direction
Able to learn difficult concepts quickly and create and implement creative solutions
Ability to work in a team and independently
Trial/arbitration support experience
Fluency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, iManage, litigation/discovery databases (CaseMap, Summation, Relativity), trial databases, and e-billing
Able to partner effectively across business units, domestically and internationally; able to quickly build rapport, credibility and trust with business leaders and employees
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate vendor agreements as necessary
Prior experience with legal e-billing, exposure to legal budgeting processes & SharePoint knowledge a plus
