Job profile summary

The BTR Planning Manager is a member of the Plant leadership team and is responsible for all plant planning activities This includes production scheduling of blending and packaging operations, raw material planning of fluids and packaging, inventory management within the Baton Rouge Plant and cluster warehouses, and capacity planning This position will ensure a safe achievable production schedule and seamless availability of materials capable of meeting demands for finished product and achieving goals of In Full On Time shipment of customer orders

Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role

Leads the 7 members of the planning team increasing the overall departmental and plant knowledge of production and inventory management
Effectively manages and optimizes raw material and finished goods inventory Responsible for delivering plant working capital targets
Works with the broader plant team to organize, plan and improve Supply Chain processes including WH stock levels, FIFO, inventory management (ie cycle counts finished goods, raw materials, bulk), and management of change (MOC)
Manages and monitors all manufacturing and procurement activities within responsibility
Actively participates in the planning network and central Auto planning teams (Wayne NJ), developing, sharing and implementing best practices
Acts as Baton Rouge site SPA for inventory management accuracy and effectiveness, leading the cycle count and physical inventory processes to optimize, track, and report inventory adjustment causes for the purpose of minimizing losses
Manages the scrapping of raw and finished materials as needed through the SLOBs (slow moving -obsolete) process
Represents the plant / participates in projects and initiatives with significant product and planning implications (ex product harmonization, portfolio rationalization, raw material changes / disruptions, etc)
Supports Crisis and Continuity Management for the site

Planning a schedule that ensures safe, reliable operations
Ensuring production scheduling and execution of deployment moves to maintain inventory targets to meet customer expectations

Experience & Expertise

Must have a BS degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management or similar
Must have a minimum of 5 years of practical supply chain experience, including planning, manufacturing, distribution, logistics and inventory control
Must have experience managing direct reports
Must have solid knowledge of MRP, MPS, and capacity planning systems and theory coupled with practical application experience
Must have SAP experience
Must have extensive knowledge of inventory control, materials management, and material procurement is needed for balancing problems created in meeting production demands
Must have well developed organizational and analytical skills coupled with the ability to look ahead to determine solutions to daily problems
Must have MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have ability to adapt / modify plans in response to changing circumstances
Should have APICS / CPIM certification
Should have TPM and or Lean Manufacturing Experience
