Piping Manager- India


and Qualifications


The job holder will be responsible for complete Piping Engineering including Layout, Stress and Materials
The job holder will be a key member of the Pune Senior Maangement Team
The job holder shall be responsible for managing the team at one end and managing all the internal customer expectations at the other end


Review current and furture workloads and develop resource and workload planning for the piping group
Develop piping design execution startegies to align with workload
Provide guidance during proposals along with reviewing and approving piping estimates
Accountable for piping design carried out at API is safe and in accordance with project specifications & applicable AP and global standards
Drive efficiency, quality and performance of piping design group
Resolution of issues on projects
Assist the piping team members in developing capabilities Identify training needs and opportunities and strengthen the team
Ensure the piping design is carried out in accordance with AP procedures and processes
Review / Improve work processes and as required drive continuous improvements
Accountable for meeting project schedules and manhour budgets
Drive rigorous change management process within the team

Ability to manage a large team of Leads, Engineers and Designers
Sound planning and implementation skills to suit a wide range / size of projects
Effective and strong communication is a key requirement
Coaching and Mentoring
Ability to influence stakeholders
Strong decision making

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE An Engineering Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical
Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
Must have knowledge of engineering practices, methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures and specifications across multiple disciplines
Has demonstrated experience in piping design and piping work processes for the smooth production of piping deliverables
Knowledge and experience of plant layouts and model reviews
Experience and knowledge to effectively communicate issues and ideas
Experience of leading and supervising a team of piping engineers, stress engineers and piping designers
Experience of working with global teams is desired
