Job Description:

The Personnel Manager is responsible for managing the crews for all of Atlantic oil & gas and Offshore

Supply Vessels This requires recruiting, hiring, and scheduling crew assignments for crewmembers,

managing and supervising all aspects of the crew members’ employment with Atlantic


• Recruit and hire seamen to fill positions on tug and offshore supply vessels

• Ensure that seamen have proper Coast Guard licenses and other required certifications

• Assist seamen with licensing and training

• Ensure that the vessels are properly crewed at all times

• Manage personnel problems, such as non-compliances and employee grievances

• Represent company for personnel inquiries by, or requests from, government agencies

• Evaluate performance of vessel employees

• Manage employment actions such as promotion, termination, and reassignment of vessel


• Conducts exit interviews and investigates potential retention problem areas

• Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary


• Must possess thorough knowledge of Coast Guard licensing requirements

• Must possess thorough knowledge of marine personnel safety training and certifications

• Must have understanding and experience with various Human Resource functions such as employee recruitment, hiring, evaluations, compensation, and benefits administration

• Must have a working knowledge of employment laws and regulations

• Must have good communications skills, both oral and written

• Must possess proven leadership ability

• Must have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a high stress environment

• Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with management and employees

• Strong demonstrated negotiation experience is essential

• Must have working knowledge of Windows based PC programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiar with Internet and web based technologies

• Must be able to learn and use custom based system software


• Extensive marine experience, specifically with Coast Guard licensing, crewing of vessels, and

managing of marine personnel, required
