PeopleSoft Programmer/Analyst - Expert, Campus Solutions

Details

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Enterprise Applications and Digital Transformation, and as part of a team, the candidate is responsible for providing complex technical expertise for the application development, implementation, and maintenance of mission critical enterprise systems including, of Oracle/PeopleSoft all Campus Solution modules, some Human Resource modules and/or other and/or related systems and associated databases to meet user business and campus information needs

Essential Job Functions

Demonstrate an in depth understanding and development skills for PS Campus Solution modules of Student Records, Financial Aid, Admissions, Campus Community, and others
Capable of developing highly complex application programs and functional solutions utilizing advanced PeopleSoft Application Designer, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, SQR, DataMover, Application Engine, and other Oracle/PeopleSoft tools
Independently evaluates and troubleshoots issues, implementing solutions with application programs
Perform system design and development of complex application programs Implement and document complex application and programs based on the policies and procedures of the organizations PeopleSoft (Common Management System) applications
Develop and document technical specifications and test plans with consideration of data/system integrity, feasibility, integration needs and security
Plans, designs, develops and deploys of enterprise projects, ensures timelines and deliverables are met and technical documentation are completed accurately, using the CMS guidelines recommended by the Chancellors Office, and the campus development standards
Function as a subject matter expert for complex user support tickets and performs assessments Research user issues and independently resolve technical problems for a diverse constituency of campus users
Design and develop of complex applications and programs based on the policies and procedures of PeopleSoft (Common Management System) applications
Develop application programs and functional solutions utilizing PeopleSoft Application Designer, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, SQR, DataMover, Application Engine, and other Oracle/PeopleSoft tools
Independently troubleshoot issues with application programs
Function as a subject matter expert for complex user support tickets and performs assessments independently resolve technical problems for a diverse constituency of campus users
Plan, design, development and deployment of enterprise projects, ensuring timelines, projects and deliverables are met, and technical documentation are completed accurately, using the CMS guidelines recommended by the Chancellors Office, and the campus development standards
Leads cross-functional teams with technical projects, facilitation and consultation for campus enterprise systems emerging technology
Evaluates, assess and test updates, fixes, and new functionality
Consult with campus stakeholders to develop and review requirements and feasibility of technical solutions Develop and assess project scope, time lines and customer expectations envisioning desired outcomes and integrates into overall plan
Interact with a wide variety of faculty, staff, managers and vendors to understand and address problems from a broad, interactive perspective and develop long range technical solutions that combine information and ideas in new and unprecedented ways
Prepares technical documentation specifications, including logic/technical diagrams, development of reports and record layouts, detailed program specifications, program instructions, and procedures Test plans with consideration of data/system integrity, feasibility, integration needs and security
Uses query tools such as PeopleSoft Query to create ad-hoc reports on demand Oversees scheduled jobs (processes and reports)
Performs other related work as required by the Director of Administrative Information Systems

Required Education

Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field plus 5 ( ) years of relevant fulltime experience, or
Masters or above in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field and three (3 ) years work-related experience

Required Experience

Equivalent to seven (7) years of full time related work experience developing and maintaining enterprise-level PeopleSoft Campus Solutions applications
Minimum of four years in higher-education experience preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of

Campus-defined systems, applications, and standards
Structured programming techniques, relational database design, and file structure
Knowledge and skills in applications programming and systems analysis
System development life cycle and structured systems development concepts
Formal data flow analysis methodologies
Data administration principles and data modeling concepts
Administrative systems development and workflow processes
Oracle/PeopleSoft Tools 8x or higher
Client/server technologies
System/equipment capability, design restrictions, and security requirement
Network configuration, programming, and protocols

Ability to research and evaluate the functionality of vendor software to meet user needs
