Job Summary

As a Systems Engineering Manager in NetApps Sales function, you are responsible for directing all aspects of the Systems Engineering organization for your assigned region including pre-sales support for selling NetApps products or services to existing and future clients You develop long-term strategies and shorter term plans to meet aggressive performance goals You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships You need to be able to balance the team leadership with the requirement to be the technical face of NetApp in the UK&I market You need to be able to lead from the front and have relationships with key customer executives, partners and industry analysts

Job Requirements

The overall responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering, are to provide management oversight to Systems Engineers and for growth and development of the function including selecting, hiring and developing results-oriented professional employees Specific areas of responsibility include

Participate in strategic planning sessions with the Sales Management team on a quarterly and annual basis to create a local sales and marketing plan to drive revenue
Communicate sales and marketing strategies and plans to employees within your Region
Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, marketing program development, relationship development, customer satisfaction, and collateral material development and distribution
Identify needed resources for supporting sales strategy and develop a proposed budget for Senior Management review
Review management plans with other District Managers on a regular basis
Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental goals are met
Keep senior management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results
Assume responsibility for result, including costs, methods and staffing
Sets the strategy for his team and is accountable for execution based on desired outcome and metrics
Partners with her/his sales counterpart in exceeding quarterly booking and revenue targets within expense limits
Develops Relationships at appropriate levels in relevant accounts, reseller and alliance partners
Is an effective account strategist and makes the difference within strategic initiatives
Has strong internal network and a strong positive image
Is partnering with global support and professional services, accepts ownership of technical topics in accounts
Effectively supports major corporate initiatives
Drives Business Initiatives
Facilitate, develop, and transform the team ongoing and strategically

Education

Education & Experience

A minimum of 10 years of experience as an individual contributor and 1 to 5 years as a people manager preferred
Hands-on experience with cloud solutions in an enterprise and commercial environment is highly desired
Proven ability to penetrate into new accounts and grow existing accounts through close partnership with other sales-driven businesses
A Bachelor of Arts of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science; or related field is required; a Graduate Degree is preferred
Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services is required
Specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth
