Job Description:

Responsible for performing research, design, development, modification, and evaluation of the storage product Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs Analyzes mechanical systems, sub-systems & components, performing professional mechanical engineering design and calculations Tolerance Analysis, Stress/Strain/Force/Deflection etc, prepare the assembly, sub assembly, manufacturing drawings of mechanical, structural drawings which involves fabrication /Machining type of drawings, Proactively identify and solve structural design issues at PCBA, enclosure, and rack level Interact with all key stake-holders, suppliers/vendors to conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and or modified designs, correlate structural simulations with lab measurement Work with design teams to evaluate design tradeoffs for design optimization considering cost and manufacturability requirements Require strong communication, stakeholders management, working in a startup based team environment to foster strong collaborations across groups and influence all stakeholder towards delivering the optimal end system solution

Qualifications

Must have BE / MS in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10+ years experience with below skill sets

Strong experience in designing cabinets, chassis of OCP servers & PCIe CEM form factor based add in cards

Strong experience in manufacturing processes, assemblies reliability, cost and resources dFMEA, DFMA, DFX, FEA shock vibe drop, verification plan, etc

Strong knowledge of materials like aluminum, copper, sheet metal, plastic etc

Strong knowledge in tools like Solidworks/ProWildfire, Ansys, etc

Good knowledge with GD&T

Good system design knowledge and process awareness

Good knowledge in Engineering Change Management Process, SAP, Agile PLM systems

Awareness of technical advances within the storage industry and applies this knowledge to products and processes
