Partnership Manager

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to establish partnerships with other companies, academia, government agencies and other organizations These partnerships will regularly be allocated to a specific initiative in the NBA and aim to accelerate and increase success of this initiative One example of such an initiative could be partnering with a medical research organization to develop a medical device Another one might be to join an industry consortium in the US in the area of additive manufacturing

At the same time we get a rising number of external requests, which will need to be addressed very selectively

This is a new role which has not existed before and we expect the candidate to take the initiative and define required processes, actions etc to develop this role There is a potential to expand the scope beyond the NBA to the wider Cyient organization

Key Accountabilities

  • Establishes a partner ecosystem with industrial and academic partners for initiatives and the NBA in general

  • Identify opportunities for partnerships

  • Facilitates the partnership between the external partner and the NBA initiative

  • Manages the contractual / financial elements of the partnership

  • Supervises the ongoing evolution of established partnerships

  • Contributes as part of the inner circle of the NBA to the development of the NBA-strategy and its execution


  • More generalist than specialist

  • Strong people skills

  • Strategic perspective

  • Strong ability to work as an influencer in a dynamic environment

  • Good decision maker (fast, considerate, consulting others but not shy to divert from other opinions

  • Experience in a project management or business development role would be a plus

  • 10+ years of job experience


There are no mandatory qualifications, however useful qualifications might be

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)

  • Six Sigma (with a problem solving, design-of-experiments focus, not just process improvement)

  • Design Thinking

  • Scrum/agile development

  • Background in manufacturing / engineering

The university background is preferably Engineering / Business / Manufacturing oriented, other backgrounds are possible if they add to the diversity of the team and in combination with useful work experience


  • Top 5 percentile regarding general cognitive ability

  • Driven by the ambition to create things, to be successful

  • Thinks before speaking / good listener

  • Integrity

  • Mature authority


  • Working with his co-located team from the Hyderabad Innovation Centre

  • Able to travel frequently (customers, congresses, partners etc) on a global scale

  • Good problem solver, including a deep understanding of problems in the first place and then formulating and implementing strategies that solve the root causes successfully
